What kind of grapes? I want to have a grape trellis along the fence one day. Mainly for pretty, and for preserving. I’m not venturing into wine-making. I prefer consumption to production.

I’m growing for the Red Woman to eat them. Too many hobbies already to start making wine. Lol
Going with seedless Suffolk

If it's just light duty, get a cheap ass Kobalt from Lowe's or something. I have a gas trimmer for my heavy brush and such and I got the cheapest battery powered Kobalt trimmer they had for my sidewalk and driveway areas. It's trash, but it does okay for what little it's used for. Even an electric corded trimmer would be fine for that.

Never did grapes, but we grew muscadines for years (one white and one red) at the previous house. Built a trellis out of pallets. Man those things put out some fruit. We couldn't process it fast enough.

So I’m building the grape trellis/fence today. I thought it would be cool to put the grape vines in flower pots with the bottom cut out at the base of the posts. I thought it would look good and protect the vines from me and a weed eater. So while in HomeDepot I went out to lawn and garden to look at pots. Have you seen how much a good flower pot costs?

Yep. Anything with serious size is crazy. I wait until they cough up a 10% coupon and clean them out then.

Could you use a grow bag instead? Although they’re pretty bad too.

—duh me: since you’re a dang builder and all, haven’t you got some 1x or 2x untreated scraps you could build individual planter boxes with??

So I’m building the grape fence/ Trellis and listing to the game. We had just missed our 43rd 3 pointer in a row and I said “lord dang it stop with the futher mucking 3s and attack the paint!” Turned around and the neighbors were walking by looking at me like I was possessed. I said “afternoon preacher”. He just waved shook his head and kept walking.
