The eternal QB debate (merged)

Ok let me rephrase the question. If Crompton is the still the QB next week is CLK keeping his work because we all know that Crompton will take the brunt of this all week and for the rest of his life. I feel that there is absolutely no way that NS is worse than JC at this point. So why would he put this young man through the criticism that he is about to face if he stays our starting QB?

The day the coach listens to VN or fans for player selection is the day we need a new coach

What were JC's stats tonite? He had at least 4 passes dropped. He did not get us beat today.............Ohio was better than Wyoming last year.

That being said why is CLK letting JC stay the QB when he knows that the whole Vol nation is asking for a change and JC will be the one that ultimately will pay for the decisions of his head coach.

Because Kiffin is smarter than the average UT fan.

even if we didnt pass wit crompton at all during the game he wud still find someway to throw one but 3 of his ints on the season r were tipped but can we expell him from the school or sumthing? plz!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't care who goes in. I think the "building Confidence" thing is comical at this point. I bought in to it until the Florida loss. Now? Just win. In my opinion, there are no reasons to continue with JC at QB. AND, I don't want to hear "the confidence and trust that Kiffen gives Crompton, will be a positive to future recruits". Does a 4-8 season look positive? Hey, after what I saw tonight, it's possible and maybe real. You guys want to give me crap for this post, go ahead, but look back at all of your post during the game.

I still believe in Lane and I love having him as the coach, but something has to give. I don't claim to have the answers, and that (among many others) is the reason I'm not the coach.

Sorry, I'm upset and I just don't uderstand.

guess what... UT-chattanooga, with BJ Coleman at QB, just beat Wofford the #17 Div II team in the nation, 38 to 9... coleman through for 176 yards and 4 TD's before being taken out.

Hey Kiffin, Thanks for the BJ... it feels great!

This.

Ohio led the Buckeyes in the 4th quarter last year. They aren't WKU.

And yes, he did have 4 passes dropped that should have been caught, one of which resulted in the INT.

The only 2 awful plays I blame entirely on Crompton are the overthrow of Teague on the deep pass and the fumble when he should have thrown it 10 rows deep. That's definitely an improvement over previous Crompton performances.

Don;t forget his fumble that we got lucky on. We very well could have lost if the Ohio defender wasn't out of bounds when he recovered it. Reminded me of his fumble against AU last year. Prediction: Crompton loses the AU game next weekend just like last season.

He can throw 5 picks in a game is we win.......I will be happy with playing ugly so long as we win

Coleman is a quitter and I'm glad he is gone . He could'nt handle the competition so good ridance to him :mf_surrender:

Agree... he did an okay job tonight (based on the Cromtpon QB scale). Still isn't getting much time to set up, and I thought also did a good job looking off the defenders on the screen pass to BB for the TD.

Thanks, I know Crompton will never be a Manning, but I kinda admire his moxie with all the abuse he has taken. I hope he will have a good game next week.

CLK is rebuilding and I have faith in the direction he's taking us . I think he is probably telling his players that he will continue to have his players backs , even after everyone else dosent . My best guess

This is just sooo frustrating. I'm sure we need to trust the coaches if they think Stephens really is that much worse than Crompton. I just don't see how that's possible. This guy can't make simple quarterbacking decisions. He's hopeless!
With JC, I honestly don't see more than two more wins on our schedule.
