The eternal QB debate (merged)

Wow. Due to no fault of my own I couldn't see the game tonight... but when I first saw these threads I was sure they had to have played JC on D or ST's tonight.

The offense had to outscore Ohio... and somehow that's JC's fault too?

Again, I didn't see the game so maybe he did play horribly. I'll defer to some of the more rational folks here that did see the game... but as I've been saying for awhile now. UT has more problems than their QB's.

Coleman is a quitter and I'm glad he is gone . He could'nt handle the competition so good ridance to him :mf_surrender:

Not taking up for him but, he's playing and that's what he wanted to do. From what we (I) heard, he knew he wasn't going to with the Vols.

Crompton is a average college quarterback, what concerns me is that our recievers can't get separation from Ohio.. I'm not trying to take up for the guy but our WR's are not helping things.

Alright I will give my answer to my own question. I think that JC is probably the best QB we have. I was keeping up with the official thread though and felt for Crompton and realized that the only way CLK could have his back was to pull him after the comments I saw. I did feel that Cromton had a fine game tonight and did have a few miss Q's. I just feel if Stephens is that bad show all the Crompton haters to maybe make some of the ney sayers change there opinion and start supporting our QB. I just wanted to hear another opinion. By the way I am a huge supporter of CLK and our VOLS no matter who is our QB! Just hate to see the brunt that Crompton takes for being the best QB we have. I am hanging this thread up. Have a good one. Look foward to next week "Kill DAMN EAGLE"

I was very impressed with the defense considering they lost Walker, Thompson, Reveiz, Lathers, and Rogan. Sure, they gave up alot of passing yards, but Ohio threw the ball 52 times. UTs defense held Ohio to 21 yards rushing on 17 attempts. That is as good as you can get...

Ohio's 2 TDs came from a kickoff return for a TD and a series in which they started on UTs 30 thanks to the Crompton INT. The rest of the time, they were held to FGs...

Meanwhile, our offense ran the ball down their throat only to see drives stall in Ohio territory when we went to the passing game...

BJ figured out quickly that Kiffin was going to go with Crompton, regardless of the talent..... Stephens is learning it now..... Is it worth giving up two expereinced players for a 1st round freashman next year?

Right now, Russ Huesman is looking like a freaking Genius for turing around the UT-Chattanooga program.... His first year!! I am sure he appreciates Kiffin giving him the BJ...

CLK is rebuilding and I have faith in the direction he's taking us . I think he is probably telling his players that he will continue to have his players backs , even after everyone else dosent . My best guess

I support that as well but, come on. If CLK is what I think he is and will be, he could earn their trust AND win. All I see (after tonight) is him (CLK) teaching Crompton that he has his back as a Loser (QB)... not person.

Here is my question. CLK has said that he will have his QB's back no matter what. I have been a true Crompton supporter till this point. That being said why is CLK letting JC stay the QB when he knows that the whole Vol nation is asking for a change and JC will be the one that ultimately will pay for the decisions of his head coach. This is my only question I have had about our new head coach but I would like to hear your alls opinion.

Actually the whole VolNation isn't asking for a change. Just the idiots of VolNation which seem to be increasing in numbers every day.

Anyone want to still say that BJ Coleman got a fair shake? This just proves that Lane never gave the kid a fair shake, Crompton is beyond awful. No way Stephens or Coleman could have been this bad.

As bad as he was today, I'd be surprised if Kiffin yanks Crompton. Its not like he played any worse tonight then vs Ucla and Uf. If those performances didnt get him yanked, then tonight's performance looked like a 21-27 200 yards 2 td performance to Kiffin.

Dropping 4 catchable passes didn't help things.

BJ was a hometown kinda guy and only went to UT because it was a dream come true for him. But being forced to sit on the bench to a guy that imploded all year last year made the decision pretty easy for him. I know he hates the missed opportunity at UTK but the nooga loves him and he's at home now. Vols loss , not his.

he got a shot last year and proceeded to toss a pick6 to Vandy.

It couldn't have been much of a dream come true, given that he quit. Crompton had the same opportunity to transfer after riding the pine for three years minus two games, but he didn't quit unlike The Quitter.

Nothing The Quitter ever does at UTC will ever change my opinion that he was our 3rd best QB. I don't even care if The Quitter leads them to a National Title (won't happen, just throwing it out there).

BJ got a fair shake and cried his way back to Chattanooga. It's time to face the facts that all of these QBs suck. Cromp just sucks slightly less. And yes, there is a way that Stephens and Coleman are this bad.

I had no problem with giving JC a chance to wrong the ship again. He's earned a few chances. But when my kid spills his drink a couple times ...I give him a mean look and ask him to be more careful. After the 3rd or 4th time I stop letting him drink in the living room.

lol at nooga homers. He was bad and he was a quitter. It's his own loss.
