Because you're building a team for the future, not paying for past point totals. Do you think Blake Bortles is better than Roethlisberger? Allen Hurns is better than Randall Cobb?

So ur saying that by the end of the year mcCoy will be a top 25 player . I doubt that strongly

ok so for starters, this is my team

This is the league where at 300 and 400 yards passing, you get +10 for each, if you go for 100 or 200 rushing, you get +10 for each, and if you go for 100 or 200 receiving, you get +10 for each. Lots of bonuses to be had. Also it's PPR and QBs get a +.5 for each completed pass. A lot of points all around. It's crazy.

Anyway, I'm tied for 1st with a 5-1 record, but ahead of 2nd place in points by a little over 100. My issue, as you can see, is that I'm without a 3rd WR for the week.

Would you
  1. Leave the team as is
  2. Drop one of Tyrod, McCown (who I picked up for 2 weeks ago when Tannehill was on a bye), or Spiller
  3. Drop my kicker

How big is the league? I'd drop Spiller. I don't really like only having two RBs, but unless it's a huge league I'd think there are similar options out there for you to pick up next week.

I have 3 RBs, Freeman, Foster, and Forsett. I just struggle to give up on the notion that suddenly Spiller will turn into Sproles.

Also in 2 weeks, Forsett and Foster will be on a bye at the same time. I'll need to have a 4th RB to fill in for one of them, then I can throw a WR (or maybe Bennett) into the FLEX

I'm not a big Spiller guy, so I kinda assume that if you drop him and someone else picks him up, there will be another free agent RB that's pretty much just as valuable. But if you like Spiller a lot better than the available RBs, then by all means, drop the kicker. Your instincts have gotten you to 5-1, and kickers don't really matter anyway.

They do, and that's why I'm thrilled to have gotten Gostkowski in a trade. But if byes leave you with no one worth dropping, and it's not a must-win game because you're 5-1, going without a kicker for one week isn't going to kill you. I've done it before.

Plus, if someone else picks up Matt Bryant after you drop him, someone like Chris Boswell is probably available and just as good.

Damn choad jugglers in my league vetoed my trade. I traded Moncrief for Eddie Lacy. They only care about where a guy was drafted and totally ignore a guy's on field production. I thought it was a fair trade.
