Question. With my roster currently being:

QB - Andy Dalton, Tyrod Taylor
RB - Devonta Freeman, DeMarco Murray
RB - Mark Ingram, Ronnie Hillman, CJ Anderson
WR - Odell Beckham Jr
WR - Amari Cooper
WR - Martavis Bryant, Allen Hurns
TE - Gary Barnidge, Travis Kelce
K - Stephen Gostkowski
DEF - Seattle

Should I consider picking up David Johnson (AZ) after the injuries to Andre Ellington and Chris Johnson? Or possibly have an eye on another WR like Baldwin?

DJ would be my first pickup, but I don't think I'd drop any of those guys to do it. I think you're fine

Yeah but he was back last week and They split 55/45%. Langford had 1 goal line carry and scored. He had 11 points. I wouldn't think about starting him except that it's at home against SF and they're terrible on the road. I'm also worried about Miller.

Miller only came up with what like a point last week?

Yeah, I'm just hoping one of the DEN RBs takes off so I won't need to keep both on the roster. I need a decent backup RB in case someone gets cold or hurt; unfortunately Demarco doesn't to seem to be anywhere near being a use regularly type of option.

Our waiver wire is rotating, so if I use it I go to the back of the line. And at this point in the season, if you use it now you'll likely be near the back from here on out. In the past I've been patient and picked up guys that have carried me, and last year it was to the championship. I'm at the top of the order and am debating whether David Johnson is worth the add over my current flex player Lacy. I'm in 3rd place but the #1 team in our league is dominant so I'm going to need to get lucky to win. I'm thinking that Johnson isn't that much of an upgrade, if any, over Lacy and I should keep the waiver card in my back pocket should a bigger pickup come along. Thoughts?

Id definitely stay put for now. It appears that Lacy may finally be on the right track.

FWIW I'd also just stick with Lacy. I don't think Johnson is anything special.

So who's all in or in the hunt for their playoffs?

I'm the only 9-3 team in my division, 3 other 8-4 teams, I'm up against one of them this week and the other two should win as well. 4 best records make the playoffs with high score beating tiebreakers that aren't head to head.

Even if I lost this week and everyone else wins I'll be tied for first at 9-4 and I have the most points scored in the league currently, so unless the next highest guy (who I'm up against ironically) outscores me by 60, I'll be the #1 seed no matter what.

Just making the playoffs wins $200. Second round is $350. all the way up to first which is now going to be $1060 because we decided to up the money every playoff team got instead of having first and second be $1500 and $1100 prizes. Less maxed out, more guaranteed. None of us are complaining really.

I'm still not sure how I got so far ahead considering my #1 and #2 picks were Jamaal Charles and Matt Forte, and combined they've both missed eighteen billion games effectively. Getting Chris Ivory as My #3 back in about the 14th round helped a ton, but I think getting the Cardinals D over the Ravens in round 16 and then Gary Barnidge as a free agent around week 6 took me over the top.

Carson Palmer as the literal 18th and last pic as my then backup (started all but 2 games for me this season) QB behind Cam Newton sure didn't hurt either. I called him the steal of the draft out loud then and I don't think many could disagree.

I missed the playoffs in my work league because I started Tannehill over Mariota yesterday

What was I thinking :banghead2:

I'm thinking dropping Demarco Murray or my kicker Gostkowski (who's dropped with the Patriots down to like 7 and 4 points the last few games) to get Baldwin before someone else. Thoughts?

I'm still not buying into Baldwin.

Is Murray really still worth keeping on a roster at this point, though? Especially after theses last 3-4 weeks (when Ryan Mathews' injury was supposed to give him the bulk of the load).

I have other options than Baldwin. (Shaun Draughn, among some others)

Or drop Demarco Murray?

Really feeling dropping Demarco Murray.

I'd probably drop Hillman before Murray, but I can see why you would drop Demarco.

I'll assume your league championship is in Week 16. You definitely wouldn't feel comfortable starting Demarco next week in Week 14, and probably not in Week 15 either because even if he does well next week, he could go right back to 8 carries for 17 yards. But in the best-case scenario where he does well the next two weeks, I'd still consider starting him in W16. If you wouldn't--and you've lost all confidence in him to where he can't really change your mind, or you think there's no chance of him having 3 straight good games anyway--you should absolutely drop him.

As for Baldwin, I'm not big on him, but he's on fire. Sometimes, even guys with average talent just keep producing (see Gary Barnidge). I'd be okay with dropping any of those guys for him, but I'd probably start with Hillman (just because I think CJA is better) or maybe Hurns.

And I'd still say Gostkowski is at worst the #2 kicker (after Gano), so I'd probably keep him unless you feel really strongly about both Baldwin and everyone else on your team.

Id rather have Draughn. Running backs are harder to come by this late in the season. Baldwin just isn't consistent enough, imo, to start.

He's close to that point, unfortunately. At the moment, I'd be more likely to start Freeman and Ingram, albeit the production from the latter is beginning to lessen as well.

If I'm having to hold onto both Hillman and Anderson while that one's sorted out - note that I'm still also carrying both Barnidge and Kelce at TE - it's just also becoming tougher to hold onto him and give him that roster spot when he's putting up 7 pts to 15 carries for only 3 pts to yesterday's 2 pt games as a feature back, because either his team's getting blown out or for some reason he only played 14 snaps and got 8 carries - with Sproles getting 33 snaps (15 carries) and even Barner almost seeing as many snaps - under what Chip Kelly called "game-plan specific." (the Murray less involved part)

Now they're saying his involvement has pretty much decreased weekly, he's fallen to the area of "risky RB2" / "boom or bust RB2" as Ryan Mathews is getting better, and those week 14 and 15 matchups don't inspire much in the way of building back up confidence.

Not to mention I've also waited on him / given him chances, but in that meantime while doing so, I've seen guys Charcandrick West, JJ/Buck Allen, and Jonathan Stewart get picked up by other teams.

I'd even be fine with picking up Draughn or NE's James White at this point, or some combo plus picking up a second defense - Kansas City - for the playoffs.

I know his offense makes him the most likely to actually score, but his numbers dwindling plus New England's offensive injuries starting to slow their offense down right before the playoffs have me a bit concerned. He's not putting up those 19-15 point games anymore, slowing down to 9,11, 8,7, and most recently 4 (with that 11 coming mostly from that last second 50 yarder against the Giants). Since it's only a 10-team league, it's not like there aren't several other good kickers available right now (Prater, Boswell, and up until last week J. Myers).

But that wasn't really the point with dropping him...as much as he's a "always ranked near the top" kicker, he's also a kicker...I don't have to worry as much about a someone pulling him off rolling waivers, and it might also give me some time to hold onto another player to make a decision...it was more that.

The rest of my roster right now looks like:

QB - Dalton, Taylor
RB - Ingram, Freeman, Hillman, Anderson, Demarco Murray
WR - Hurns would be the only one I might consider dropping, though he's been a WR2 level guy all year
TE - Kelce, Barnidge
K - Gostkowski
D - Sea

I would have normally just gone with getting rid of Hillman but with the uncertainty about how bad Anderson's ankle injury might be (word might not come until Wed), I'm not sure whether that's the way to go
