The Everything Fantasy Football Thread

ok just had my 2nd and final draft of the year. QB-RB-RB-WR-WR-TE-FLEX-K-D/ST format with no PPR. All scoring is standard. 10 players. 5th pick in the snake draft.

1. Peterson, 2. Bell, 3. Lynch, 4. Charles

1st round Eddie Lacy was what fell into my lap.
Back around the snake for the 2nd round was Matt Forte.
Round 3, the top WRs on the board were Jeffery, Matthews, and T.Y. I went with Alshon Jeffery.
Round 4 I got my QB. Already gone were Luck, Rodgers, and Wilson. Here, I got Drew Brees.
5th round I went with Davante Adams. At this point, I decided I was gonna go with Packers and Bears (both teams have the 7th week byes). Week 7 will suck, but at that point, if I could keep up that strategy, I felt pretty good.
Round 6 I took Martellus Bennett as the 5th TE off the board (Gronk, Graham, Olsen, and Kelce).
7th round I grabbed Jarvis Landry as an every-week flex pick. The way last season ended for him is very promising.
In the 8th, I went with Julian Edelman. Figure if he gets healthy, he could be useful once Brady is back.
9th round I went with John Brown. If Palmer stays good, he might become something.
From here, I went Marques Colston (10), Joique Bell (11), Cardinals D/ST (12), Devonta Freeman (13), Owen Daniels (14), and Jay Cutler (15).

From here, I'll probably drop Owen Daniels to pick up a kicker.

Lost to bye weeks
Week 4: Edelman (BN)
Week 5: Landry (FLEX)
Week 6: none
Week 7: Forte (RB), Lacy (RB), Jeffery (WR), Adams (WR), Bennett (TE)
Week 8: none
Week 9: J. Bell (BN), J. Brown (BN), Cardinals (D/ST)
Week 10: Freeman (BN)
Week 11: Brees (QB), Colston (BN)

As it's set up, only 1 week has more than 1 starter on a bye. If I can eat that week, I feel good the rest of the way.

I had these 2 drafts tonight, in the one with Bradford i have Justin Tucker and Miami defense, in the other one i have Tucker and St. Louis...

Scoring is weird in this league, I have the highest projected pts for week 1 at 708. Lol Watt, Kuechly and L. David are ranked 1,2, and 3 for defensive guys. I grabbed them early and sacrificed RB a little. Surprisingly I picked Landry with my 3rd to last pick, I think he has pretty big year.

Other than Watt, many defensive players are interchangeable. My first league has 1 IDP and last year I rode Chris Borland because he was getting something like 15 tackles a game.

This is my team for my Vol Hall league (somehow only six of us) but two of the guys have never played fantasy football before so it'll be interesting. Unfortunately I had the 7th pick in a snake draft so my running backs aren't the level I normally like. However, they decided to do no limits on position numbers, so I have 3 legit possible top 10 QBs, and a stable of running backs that could easily end up terrifying If even one decides to have a good season other than Murray. Since there's no mandatory max/min on positions, I'll just fill Tight ends/Kickers/defenses as needed and keep RBs and WRs at a premium. Also, we do Safeties and CBs in this league.

Of course I don't think Murray will be close to his numbers last year, but he was the best available at the time.

I was, somehow, able to get Matthew Stafford.... in the 17th round. I picked Drew Brees over him initially and didn't notice he was still available whenever I got Romo (my go to backup Fantasy QB any time I can do it.)

Unfortunately, I'm slightly older than some of the people in the league, so not everyone got the team name reference.

edited because mobile didn't upload my pictures of it sadly and apparently can't enlarge attachments so the roster is

QB: Stafford, Romo, Brees
RB: DeMarco Murray, Joseph Randle, Cj Spiller, Duke Jonson (Who i think is going to have a sneaky great year), Danny Woodhead, Kniles Davis (who will be amazing when jamaal charles gets hurt again like he did last year)
WR:Mike Evans, Desean jackson, Percy Harvin, Kendall Wright
TE: Gronk
D: Bills
K: Janikowski
CB: Kyle Fuller
S: Rashad Jones

Mostly my thoughts.

I wasn't sure if I should consider taking Andre Johnson or martavius Bryant (even with his initial miss) over Ingram though.

Edit: also slightly torn on Thomas's injury just because it's so hard to find a TE that puts up his kind of production.

If he was with Peyton, I'd agree. He's in Jax. He's worthless.

What are your thoughts about one of the other WRs over say Ingram or one of the other RBs?

Are you required to keep a certain amount? How does the keeper system work? Do they slot into different rounds or is it just that everyone starts drafting in, say, round 5, from an already-picked-through group of players?

If it was me, id keep Anderson, Matthews, Beckham, Andre Johnson, and Bryant. Possibly Charles Johnson over Bryant.

(Sorry if too much info. Just wanted to make sure everything was covered.)

They slot into where they were originally picked, with a free agency pickup falling to the lowest open draft spot (the league's original intention in this - back when it started as a keep as many as you want / dynasty league - was more to reward people who were savvy enough to find up and comers during the season).

We can keep up to 5 (or 6, I need to check), but it's not a requirement. Most teams seem to hold on to the full amount

Only ones with assigned keeping values. I pick second to last in a snaking draft.

Andre Johnson - 3rd round pick
Marques Colston - 5th round pick (I dropped him at one point, but league rules)
Stafford - 6th round (F him. His awful performance against chicago lost me the finals)
DeMarco Murray - 14th
Julius Thomas - 15th

Everyone else kept fills out lowest open upward. Most of these were players I had found a few years back or picked up from free agency (Andre Johnson is probably the only one who has been on my team since the league started in 2007, and he was from a trade where I gave up Manning.)

Definitely not Johnson as a 3rd rounder. Bryant may be good, but he would take a while to emerge and neither is as valuable as those RBs are. Trading Graham for Unger (everyone forgets about Unger) could easily signal that the Saints want to transition to a power run game as Brees ages, and even if they just continue doing what they did last year, Ingram can play.

I don't expect Thomas to be THAT much better than, say, Larry Donnell. There are more TEs than people think, especially with Thomas leaving Denver, having surgery and missing at least 3-4 games (and I think it'll be more).

Considering this, I'd keep DeMarco in the 14th for sure. I'd keep Anderson since he's a low rounder. OBJ and Jordan Matthews as well. Ingram as a late round pick would be worth keeping. Only other guy I'd consider keeping is LaFell, also as a late pick. Everyone else I'd give up.

murray is a steal in round 14

Wait, you picked 7th in a 6 team league?

6 people actually playing and the others randomly drafted, yep. We had a guy picking 10th with 2 robots in front and 2 behind him. The guy couldn't figure out how to make it less teams for some insane reason.
