It's a prominent train of thought on the right. It's what fed the resentment that got Trump elected.

Sadly, the foundation of the GOP has abandoned fiscal restraint, less regulation, and the like. Now a mainstay of the party's entire existence is about justifying racism by calling it different things.

I hear our cackling VP use that line a lot. “Our shared values”. I look at what she stands for and the policy positions she pushes. We have very little to nothing in common.

Well you had two options:

1. You could have actually clicked the link before you ran your mouth and you would have been taken directly to the part I was talking about
2. You could have clicked the link and if it didn't take you to that point, you could have zoomed over to the timestamp I mentioned

IOW, Americans that are (rightfully) anti-immigrant today need to understand the consequences if we do not have illegals and be willing to suffer the consequences. Wages for the people that harvest our food will be higher, which means we pay more at Winn-Dixie and Piggly Wiggly.
