The fix is in

What tempo? We haven’t ran tempo since 2022.
We are 20th in seconds per play. The Big Ten has 11 teams ranked 99th or worse whenever it comes to pace. And not a single one in the top 25. The closest to us is Maryland at 26th and we all saw how awful they are. The next closest is USC at 59th. So even though it’s not the blistering pace we are used to, it’s stay WAY faster than what is seen in the Big Ten. They will be caught off guard.

I’ve been bitching about OSU and Bama while loosing site of where this program was 4 years ago.
It’s definitely nice that we aren’t sweating making a bowl period, let alone the playoffs. Man, let that marinate a minute. Piss OSU and Piss on Bama (twice)

So we just need to opt out of the playoffs and go to a bowl game that we can win. We have no chance if we have to play the vaunted OSU Sockeyes at home. My lord, what a bunch of cheese needing fans we have. All those complaining, just don't turn on your TV if we don't get to host. It would only be hosting one game anyway, Not like it is homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. SHEESH!

So not only did Ohio State not fall below Tennessee but by some miracle of Christ, Georgia ROSE in the rankings after an 8 overtime win to an unranked team at home. I think this was on purpose to screw Tennessee out of any chance to host a game.

Maybe I'm wrong but here's the only possible way it happens now ..

Unless Georgia or Penn St lose by 30 or more points.

This bodes terribly for UT. Tennessee hasn't beat a top 10 team on the road since 2006, 19 seasons let alone a game as crazy huge as a playoff game at someone else's home field.

A real shame.
Saw where Rece Davis voted UT 5th, ahead of ND and Ohio State. Maybe ESPN doesn't hate us.

The committee gifted Notre Dame and Penn State the cakest cakewalks ever as it stands now. Let’s hope for chaos to mix this absurdity up.
The CFP."committee " ( may as well be called the B1g commonwealth) has made sure to make the SEC'S path as rigged as possible to allow their weak tit teams a chance. F mike sliver for allowing this disparity and bias.

I've been watching college football since 1974. I watched them slobber all over Ohio State, Michigan, USC, UCLA, etc. for decades. I have said all along that big media is in love with Big 10 and the old PAC-10. They disdain SEC schools and our traditions. The old BCS formula was intolerable to them as too many SEC schools won NCs (year after year in some cases). So, here is the fix and more money for the networks as well. It's a win-win.

Who is scared? From what I see it’s just people recognizing that OSU is gonna be a tough game for us to win on the road. Like it or not we aren’t a good road team. And don’t try and act like OSU can’t just turn on the jets because they can. They have elite talent everywhere.

I don’t know if we would win. I think it will be a really rough game in a very hostile environment. But of course you said Arky and UF would be easy wins. You also said the UGA game is where everything would turn around. You are wrong way more than you are right.
The thing is, no one is a good road team, especially in the freaking SEC

Also: we beat OU at their place in their first ever SEC game. As they struggled afterwards, they did beat Auburn on the road and THROTTLED Alabama at home. That alone makes it a decent road win

Goodness, man, get a grip on yourself. That’s some of the worst defeatism I’ve seen. Vols would have a great chance against OSU no matter where they played.
Man, I agree with you. Some on here make me wonder if we should just stay home. Lets just give our spot to someone else

Penn State should be getting all the attention as the biggest fraud in the rankings. Their best win required a last second field goal at USC, where they had almost as many fans. USC is mediocre, at best. They lost at home to Ohio State. Somebody is going to beat their ass in the first round. I suppose they could beat Oregon, whose best win was at home on a gift from OSU. That will expose them even worse

Man, it is really nuts how 90% of this board is ruled by emotion and bias towards their team. The committee is biased against UT, in love with the Big 10, can't wait to screw the SEC and the Vols. Have you ever considered developing opinions based on rational arguments and logic? What if instead of grand conspiracies, the simplest answer is the most accurate? That the case for those Big 10 teams, particularly Ohio St and Penn St, is more compelling than Tennessee's case? I guess this is what you get when people that can't see their own biases have 2 digit IQ's. I mean, the refs are out to get us every week also, right? LOL...
You must be new here. Let me fill you in. If we have to go to OSU or PSU to play, then whatever refs there are for that game will have already had a super secret meeting where they discuss exactly how to screw us. If we host a playoff game and lose, then whatever refs there were for that game also had a secret meeting to detail how to screw us.

Now if we win? Somehow there was no super secret ref meeting and we were just that good.

Of all the possible brackets, we get stuck in the one with the #1 and #2 teams, at least Ohio St was before their loss. I don't have good vibes from the lay out

So, if tOSU had won we'd likely be going to either Penn State or ND. Is there THAT much difference in those 3 schools?

And we would still get Oregon, as that's pretty normal for seeding/bracket structure for the mid-seed winner to get the 1 seed in the next round.

If it were a 16 team bracket, Oregon would need to destroy Arizona State or Iowa State or some other nobody first, but that would be pretty easy for them.

Look at normal tournaments, there's no fix in our bracket given our seeding.
