The fix is in

We’d have to go on the road, where Heupel is exceedingly bad, to beat the most expensive roster in college football, and if we manage that, our reward is the number 1 seed in round 2. We are basically going to have to win 2 semifinal games and two championship games to win it all. This is a bad draw, and the draw is always pivotal in any playoff in any sport.

I’d be surprised if we aren’t big underdogs against OSU, and if you are half as confident as you claim to be, you should bet an enormous amount on Tennessee.

I plan to bet on Tennessee for the record. And I disagree about our draw being bad. I'd rather be on our side of the bracket taking on these overrated big 10 teams than being on the side with Georgia, Alabama, and Texas. Yes the first round games on that side might be easier but it's my opinion that all 3 of those SEC teams are better than the overrated trio from the Big 10 of Ohio State, Oregon, and Penn State.

I'll take the path of Ohio State, Oregon, and Penn State to reach the national championship game over having to play Georgia or Texas in the second round then an Alabama team looking for revenge in the semifinals.

Bama isn’t very good. At best they are 9th in the field. I’d much, much rather play Bama in Neyland or at a neutral site than Ohio State in Columbus or Oregon anywhere.

Jesus dude, find some joy. That is loser mentality and defeatist attitude. Not everything happens because "the fix is in" if the committee wanted to hose the SEC they would have put Miami in and left Bama out. To say everyone out there has a bias against UT is extremely egotistical, maybe to a point of unhealthy
We’ve been talking a lot about having a “growth mindset” as a leadership team at work. This is a great example of a fixed mindset. Everything is someone else’s fault and we are getting the shaft.

I, for one, am in agreement with you. We have an opportunity to play for the title; that’s incredible! We still have better football to play and can beat anyone in the bracket if we do!

Forget what we can’t control. Go play our best games of the year and enjoy the ride!!!!!!!

What's the seating breakout for the playoffs? Is it 50/50 or does the home team still have seating choice advantage?

Of course the fix is in.

Alabama, Ohio State, and Notre Dame deserve more opportunities than the rest of us because they’re “elite”.

Politicians don’t get away with criminal activity if they’re the same as everyone else. This elitism in sports and Hollywood is all part of conditioning the public to accept preferential treatment.

Bama beat Georgia and dominated LSU at death valley. When they are on they can play with anyone. I agree they're not what they used to be but they're still more dangerous than those overrated Big 10 teams that play such soft schedules. And for the record everyone would take us at home against anyone over going on the road versus a quality team. I'll say this I'd rather go to Ohio State than play at Alabama. I think Alabama is the more dangerous team. I would take them over Ohio State and Oregon.

To me the top 3 teams I want to avoid in the playoffs are Georgia, Alabama, and Texas in that order. I'm not afraid of Oregon or Ohio State.

They also lost to Vandy, got destroyed by Oklahoma, and squandered a game against us where they shut us out for a half. They aren’t good. They had a good half against Georgia and played well against LSU. 6 quarters of looking like a good team over the course of a season doesn’t impress me or intimidate me. OSU has been better all year and has the more talented, deeper, more well rounded roster. It will also possibly be the coldest game Tennessee has played in generations in the largest road stadium we have ever played in.

The only potential positive or advantage to playing OSU in Columbus is maybe all the heat on Day causes the team to lay down. If it makes them rally around him, we are cooked.

But who has Ohio State played? If you gave us their schedule we go 11-1 easy. When you play in the Big 10 which has absolutely no middle tier teams that are any good it's easy to be more consistent. Also based on 247Sports team talent composite Alabama is still #1 based on talent. So you saying Ohio State is more talented is just your opinion. It's not supported by the facts.

The facts say Alabama has played a far tougher schedule and has only 1 more loss. And the facts say Alabama has the most talented roster in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Lol they have played plenty of teams better than Arkansas. We got an easy schedule and still managed to drop a bad one. They had an harder schedule than us.

Ohio State would be favored over Bama at a neutral field and would likely beat them by 2 scores. But if 247 says Bama is the greatest, feel free to agree with them. It doesn’t align with reality, but oh well.

I wasn't comparing Ohio State to us. If you wanna argue we suck compared to Ohio State then go right ahead. Let's see how that goes over on a Tennessee message board. I was comparing our possible opponents against one another. And my contention was I'd rather be on the side of the bracket with all the Big 10 teams than the side with all the SEC teams. I wasn't just looking at Ohio State versus Alabama. But rather Ohio State, Oregon, and Penn State versus Georgia, Texas, and Alabama. I think most Tennessee fans would like to avoid the side of the bracket with all the SEC teams.

That is a fact. Running into their punter. So stupid. Rule #1. If you can't hit the ball, don't hit the kicker. And after that 98 yard Kickoff return by Vandy; Who coaches ST?
They had 3rd stringers and scrubs playing on that kickoff return team. Even had a walk-on playing, who was the main culprit on letting the returner get outside and down the sideline.

Bama depends on which version of Milroe shows up. UT was able to contain him and put pressure on him. ND doesn't have the speed on defense that UT has. If UGA and LSU Milroe shows up, it will be a long day for ND.

PSU, IU, and Oregon went 34-2

Bama, UGA, and OU went 25-11

Why OSU is getting the home game....

And what type of schedules did those three teams play? PSU IU, and OU opponent's only won 51% of their games and two of the three were sub-500.
Bama, UGA, and OU schedules were against teams with a combined 64% win pct. I did the top five wins here in this thread ( Schedule Strength (for those saying Ohio State is Superior) ) but if you use the three toughest games and its an even more significant delta.

Im not saying its right but we were done in by UK, NCSU, MSU, and OU really underperforming expectations and they were boosted by Oregon and IU exceeding them.

We played 12 games and 6-6 Vandy was the only team to exceed expectations.

For sure. It sucks. Because we know if OU or even Kenucky had Indiana and Penn State's schedule things would look a lot different.

Yeah and "Special Teams" are 1/3 of the equation. That was inexcusable .. Anyone could see Vandy had the return set up to the left, yet 6 UT players automatically took themselves out of the play by not adjusting. That crap will get you beat at Osu, and the ball will be colder than at Nashville. "We know our kicker puts it out of the endzone so we don't worry about kick returns". About Right?
