The Florida Postgame Report

1. Potentially program changing win. Top 10 SEC opponent on the road? That was huge. This team now has a chance for a tourney bid.

I hope you mean NIT. This team is not going to the big dance.

That said, I'm loving how the future of our bball program is looking. Great win!

Richardson actually didn't play to bad, but yes I would agree with the FT shooting. Golden bailed us out.

No, he wasn't awful, but his two TO's and his two fouls were all bad, freshman plays. Gave us 6 big points though.

Still not ready to put this team in the dance, but today was a BIG step in the right direction. 5-1 down the stretch and we may be in business on that bubble.

I, for one, would be quite happy to get into the NIT this year - I didn't think they had a chance of even that a week ago.

Awesome game Vols! :good!:

02/15/12 vs. Arkansas - W
02/18/12 at Alabama - W
02/22/12 vs. Ole Miss - W
02/25/12 at South Carolina - W
02/29/12 at LSU - W
03/03/12 vs. Vanderbilt - W

This gets us in the NCAA, imho.

I think we lose at least one of those last two, but all are winnable after seeing us today.

another good coaching move by ccm, start skylar at pg to wake up golden(even though he says it wasnt meant to send a message), the better he plays the more succesful we are. if he plays bad, we play bad, when he plays good, we play good(for the most part)...

last 3 games since benching:

34 mins/game 15.6 ppg 52%fg 88%ft 4rpg 5.3apg 2.3topg 2.3:1ast/to

you couldnt ask for anything better from a sophomore pg, hopefully he continues the progression he's showing.

I think that this game would have been a lot closer if not for McRae. Outside of his 12 points, he provided a good boost off the bench when FL didn't have an answer. However, the most important thing he did was get the ball up the court. Once the ball hit his hands, he was over the time line in less than 2 seconds. We needed that bad in the 2nd half. Tatum just looks like he is done with UT. I think he is just going through the motions so he can get his diploma.

We need to take them one game at a time. Don't get too up after a big win or too down after a loss. Ark hasn't won on the road all year, just like us until today, so they're due.

Exactly. That'll be a tough competitive game. We have to be ready for it.

Uconn? That would give us 4 wins against top 25 teams assuming Vandy is one when we play them.

I wondered when this would be posted. It came later than I thought it would.

Edit: fade route's post was removed.

thats such an innaccurate statement its not even funny.

It was likely true before today. Not anymore, at least not necessarily. This team has as many bad losses as it has good wins as of now. Winning out would leave us at 19-12. That's probably got us in. I doubt we win out with a trip to LSU and Vandy at home. I think we lose one of those.

Yeah, LSU is a tougher game than people expect.

lol ok. It's a huge stretch for this team to make the tourney without winning the SEC tourney.

They've lost six of their last 7 and are jeopardizing their own chance of making the tourney.

And a lot of that is because of Jim Calhoun's health. That's still a good win.

which is what i said last week and once again today. because of florida's very high rpi, and the added bonus of a rpi boost for road wins, this was the opportunity we had to capitalize on.

accroding to rpiforecast if we were to win 6 of 7, so say win out and lose to vandy, and then go to the sec tournament and win 2 and lose in the championship, they predict us at an rpi of 44. that rpi, matched with our record would get us into the tournament, and thats not even that unlikely of a scenario.

i am checking the rpi by the minute to see what we jump to, when its updated i will share my findings.
