I scratch my head when I see Mcmiss on the floor period.ok he makes a couple of 3s ,so what.his man always abuses him and his couple of 3s doesnt matter if you cant guard anyone.
Golden is just bad in close games but I dont blame him as much as I blame CCM for letting him continue to lose ball games.
Mcrae on the bench in the whole 2nd half and you have Mcmiss,Tatum out there stinking the court up.

I can't believe a fanbase is as dumb to give up on a sophomore PG so quickly. Sure, Trae has weaknesses. He also has a lot of room to grow, and is in year 2 of becoming a PG. It baffles me.

It's obvious that Golden is not a college PG. His dribbling is the weakest part of his game, and his decision making at times is very questionable. He is the type of guy that is out on the court to shoot. We have him at a position that requires him to think too much and dribble, which he has shown are not his strong points. We need a PG.

I honestly think the kid gets a little tired towards the end of games, especially of late. Playing a lot of minutes this year.

YOu know what? My father and I noticed this too.

He's playing almost 35 minutes a game it seems. He played 37 tonight. That's a lot to ask of a guy to be a point guard.

Oh yeah, having Tatum bring up the ball with two minutes is pure genius...

Having neither one of them would be better. I mean it has been proven (multiple games now) Golden can't play well in the end... doesn't matter if he puts up 40, he just doesn't have what it takes, RIGHT NOW. Granted, he may become that player, he just isn't now.

I think this was also similar to post-Maui. They played their guts out in Maui but came away with losses, and the negative momentum carried over to the easier games. Same thing...yeah, we played well the previous two games, but they were still losses.

Conditioning is way down from recent years. Our guys are doubled over pulling on their shorts alot.

Then what's the alternative at PG? None.

Look, should we maybe not call plays for him at the last second starting now? Yeah.

But he has to be in, because despite his struggles, he's still a threat. You saw him in the first half.

That's my point. He plays absolutely great most of the game... Just not at the end of them.

Here's an idea then. Don't force terrible shots/passes at the end of the game. Dribble down, wait for Stokes/Maymon to post up, throw a textbook bounce pass to them. Not hard at all. Quit making excuses for him it's pathetic.

And I think part of it is that he overthinks, because he has to play the ball. Also, as you saw, teams now know we are going to him. Hopefully CCM changes it up if we get in this situation again.

1. That wasn't the play call late. The call was pick-n-roll for Golden to free him up for a shot.

2. You know what is pathetic? Coming in the basketball forum twice in one week to start a thread on one player's failure. That's pathetic.

We just really need a PG so Golden can move back to the 2. He would then become a threat at end of the game situations.

Blaming Golden for the way this season has gone would equate to blaming Skylar McBee is he had to play PF.

The kid is just not a PG, but he is our ONLY option. Tatum can't dribble and has the basketball IQ of a basketball. Richardson can dribble, but has not idea how to run the offense. Washpun is obviously not showing the coaches anything to instill confidence that he can get the job done.

I'm sure they are open to suggestions.

Exactly. He is literally all we have, and considering that's he actually a SG, the wings suck, he has to play 35 minutes a game, and be the go to guy down the stretch, he's done a fairly decent job since the Austin Peay game.

instead of making another report just gonna post what my thoughts were here.

1. TURNOVERS, TURNOVERS, TUNROVERS 20 of them to be exact that is in excusable.

2. on that same topic, UNTIMELY TURNOVERS, golden and tatum go back back in ot with turnovers on one end which lead to runouts on the other end.

3. uga scores 17 points off turnovers, and 10 points at the free thrown line, 27 of their 57 we handed to them. we didnt want this game we did whatever we could to lose.

4. half court defense was exactly what you ask for, hold them to 35% and 10% from 3 plus you turn them over 16 times that is what you ask for. when you turn the ball over like we did though it doesnt matter what kind of D you play.

5. our guards, mainly golden, need to realize in a grind it out ugly game we need to play slow. atleast 3 or 4 different times he drove down the lane with nothing there early in the clock and it led to run outs and baskets for them on the other end.

6. i will group this in one. golden and tatum both did things good for us but simply put they also lost us the game. 3 assists and 8 turnovers between those two is disgusting honestly.

7. maymon played well tonight i thought why the ball didnt continue to go down low im not really sure of he had a clear mismatch and he knew it.

8. stokes played a good game tonight, his minutes are up and the staff must feel he's 100% go. his outside shot wasnt falling, and he needs to be stronger with the ball down low but he still played a nice game and continues to show promise.

9. we have got to be better from the free throw line, especially maymon. he has gone back to last years form, he started out the year great now you just dont know what your gonna get from him at the line. he gets fouled a lot though and is leaving points on the floor bricking free throws.

10. this was a crushing blow for any sort of ncaa tourney thoughts that they may have had. the only realistic shot they have now would be to win the sec tournament.

Are you the Czar of the basketball forum? No. Do I care for a second what you think? No. Golden sucks in the last 5 minutes of games just admit it and quit making excuses. You his boyfriend or something?

Im afraid that this team will not turn the corner until we get something out of McCray on the offensive end. Tatum just cannot deliver. He is a turnover machine that in my opinion doesn't really play good defense either. He is usually too slow to recover forcing our bigs to help on his man leaving the paint open for easy scores. Same goes for McBee, he is too slow even though he puts forth a lot of effort. This team and season is a work in progress and we will probably not see the progress we want until next year.

1. That's a game you got to win, and didn't pull it out. After three good performances, tonight was bad.

2. This team has to learn the offense goes through the offense down low. Stokes/Maymon have to get more touches down there.

3. Skylar McBee's D was pathetic tonight. Back door cut with two minutes to go in OT? Seriously? You give that up?

4. If I'm Coach Martin, I'm telling Cam not to even show up for Saturday's game. That kind of performance from a senior is inexcusable.

5. Also, for CCM. So, we are going to give Cam 30+ minutes, but not play Jordan in the 2nd half? Why? At least McRae has room to grow.

6. Golden played really hard, but it's obvious. His ball handling really hurts him from becoming an elite player.

7. Tennessee could have won this game if they decided to go after a rebound. They didn't. That's why they deserved to lose

8.UConn is reeling. Got a chance for a big win Saturday. Learn from the mistakes, and go get a big win at TBA.

Well this should end all that crazy NCAA talk. That means from you too Cal. This team is an average team at best right now. They make stupid plays at critical junctures in the game and seem brain dead at times.

We had a 5 point lead late in the game and had multiple opportunities to stretch it out because UGA couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, but we would make a stupid ass pass and UGA would get an easy transition basket. That was the only way they stayed in the game late until Robinson decided to burn the hell out of McBee on consecutive trips down the court. We were playing pretty good D, but just were flat out brain dead on offense. That usually means your guards aren't setting up your offense and, like so many other times this year, they weren't.

Golden just isn't getting it done, but hell, there is no one on the bench that could come in and do better so Martin has no other choice. He and Tatum are average guards. We had a distinct inside advantage, but couldn't exploit it because our guards couldn't get it inside and our coaches couldn't put our guards in position to make the plays.

Tonight's loss falls squarely on the coaching staff in my opinion. Tatum and Golden have to take some blame with some mind numbing turnovers, but I didn't like Martin's game plan. Our guard play lost us that game like it has just about every close game.

I just hope we can win the games against UGA, USCjr and Auburn at home because this team will have trouble beating any team with a pulse on the road. They're just not that good.

Nope. I just think it's pathetic you come in after two close losses just to start a thread on one certain player and say he sucks when he gives 100%. Why not start a thread on Tatum? Or Hall? Those guys didn't give 100%, where are their threads?

Yeah, he sucked in the last five minutes. I also understand that situation that Trae is in, something you seem to not get.

And hey, why don't we act like adults instead of throwing lame comebacks like a 13 year old while we are at it.
Dead serious. I don't ever want to see Hall or Tatum on the floor again. Period. Sit those two bums on the bench for good.

We choked the game away with poor coaching/execution those last two minutes/OT. Georgia did absolutely nothing to earn that victory.

Horrible game all around. Here's hoping some changes are made with the lineup/rotation for Saturday.
Been saying that since last year. I don't care if it sounds mean. It's not that they suck, it's that their effort is pitiful. Skylar gives up the back door, Maymon is there, and Cam is staring at the whole thing happen, is late to rotate and gives him an and1.
Hall is comical.
