The Georgia Postgame Report

Why would CCM ever put the guy we look to score for us at PG. A position that's not only hard to score from but takes such a toll on you. Not that some haven't scored well from there but he is not a PG in any way

Who would you put there instead? Only person I can see an argument for is Richardson...however, I don't want the guy who's got to guard their best scorer every night exerting himself by playing PG if he's not one.

I have rarely seen this Tennessee team play with any sense of urgency or determination this season. They lack toughness as well. This is surprising, since all we have heard about is toughness and determination being Martin's mantra.

That Georgia team is one we should best by 10+ at home, Maymon or no Maymon, Golden or no Golden. Granted KC-P was throwing it in from everywhere, and others made unusually significant contributions, but this is one inexcusable loss. I'm embarrassed.

Jordan McRae played better than he has in recent games, but again looked gassed in the second half. His shot was flatter than usual (his shot always looks a little flat), he missed two FTs, and he just couldn't keep up on defense. Asking him to play PG is too much right now.

Stokes had another really good game and has recently been a decent FT shooter, which is good. He could make a living there, and should lead our team in FT attempts.

Skylar finally stumbled out of his slump a little, and Richardson was efficient offensively, but had 0 rebs. A player his size should accidentally get 2-3 rebs a game.

Not much else good to write home about. We are an abysmal perimeter team. Can't shoot, can't pass, can't handle the ball or beat pressure, and this all effects our ability to do what we do well, and that's get the ball in the paint with Stokes, McRae, and Richardson.

Because he's the best ball handler besides Golden. Have you seen McBee, Moore and the others try to bring the ball up?

Richardson would be my first choice though you have a good point. I just wouldn't Jordan because we need his scoring so much. That being said I know CCM knows a hundred times more about basketball/his team than I do.

Richardson can't dribble with his right hand, even though he is right-handed and shoots right. He dribbles almost exclusively with his left.

In SEC play, @JordyMac52 leads the league in minutes played (35.9 mpg) while ranking third in scoring (17.2 ppg).

That's a helluva lot of minutes.

Yes they will

BTO...

Didn't you predict during the game last night that Tennessee was going to win by "double digits"?

As I have said before, I seriously doubt that this team will finish above .500 in conference.

It is one thing to be optimistic, however it is another to completely ignore what the Vols show on the court each game.

I agree it is, unfortunately right now he's by far our best option...it's why we really need golden back.

I agree. Posted awhile back when Golden was really playing poorly and was getting blasted that we really needed him bad. He's the only one we have that can close a game

Jordy has been the player of the year for us no doubt...hoping he gets 1st team honors he deserves it.

Crazy thing is in the offseason there was talk this team would go as far as jordy improved (wing appeared to be the weak spot)...if I'd have said jordy would earn 1st team all-sec the predictions and expectations would've been through the roof. Unfortunate.

Yup I did, and I was wrong. Wasnt the first time and won't be the last.

Maybe UT loses every game here on out, but I believe they finish above .500, and I feel confident saying that.

To be fair, those predictions (mine included), were made with the belief that we would have a healthy Maymon. Once he was deemed MIA for the year, all bets were off.

In a slight twist of irony, this team still has actually gone as McRae has gone. Without his newfound assertiveness and mild level of consistency, we would be in even worse shape.

Oh I agree, my predictions were assuming we'd be at full strength as well...here's to hoping jordy brings it next year as well and we have a healthy season.

Does that make you feel good that you're confident in saying that? Will you be satisfied with those results? The excuses have run out for Martin, show him the door, please!
