I'd stick to the extra wedge rather than the faux intimidation. Even good players leave the 1 and 2 at home now.

Better tactic is truly hit much longer clubs on par 3's but cut 'em, choke up and 3/4 'em up there. Guys get all inflated about hitting 2 clubs less than you.

I have heard that only God and John Daly can hit a one iron :)

If you can hit it, it will be a good club to have

BPV is right, better to have the wedge than a 1 iron.

yeah, the 1 iron would be a joke more than anything.

I was reading up on the sand and lob wedge that go with my clubs (old eye 2s) and they seem pretty good, figured one of them could become a gap for me...now that I actually hit the ball consistently enough to actually gauge my irons. Pretty cool feeling.

I'd go with new forged wedges with some nasty grooves. I'd the eye2 is a must, go with the plus model and look at the Berylliums.

Right now I'm perfectly fine with my forged blades, I've hit some hybrids that I liked okay, even purchased an Adams set but I just can't work the ball with them. There will undoubtably come a day that I do but for now, I ain't fixin what ain't broke.

I hit blades too, but I'm not about to pull the two iron out of the garage. I love the 3 iron, but the hybrid 2 is just too easy to hit about 5 different ways, and especially from the rough.

Don't hit it in the rough to start with ... :p

Seriously, it probably would be a great club to have in the bag but I don't think I'd need to use it enough to justify pulling a wedge out of the bag and I certainly ain't pulling my 2 blade......yet.

I wouldn't even remotely consider taking mine out. I play it much like Tiger does his 5 wood, only much worse.

Not bad, that's a pretty good poke, that's a tad longer than I hit my 2 blade now, used to be able to get it out there about 255-258, now with a bad back, 243 about maxes me out but what I lost in distance I gained in control, so it ain't all bad

If I really want to load it up, I can nuke that thing, but I'm comfortable at 250 on the fly. From the tee, I'll get an extra 15 yards of roll. It's long and plenty accurate enough over that kind of distance.

If you are good enough to know your yardages by 3's, you don't need to be posting on this board. Let alone hitting a 2 iron that far

Hitting a Nickent 3fw that I bummed off my buddy. Not a clue what loft but I need to find something like you are hitting. I can bust it 250 one time and might hit it 220 the next catching it solid but it balloons. I like the boring ball flight off the tee under the gun

Sounds like shaft problem. Try the Aldila VS Proto Hybrid 80. Ballooning won't be a problem.

Just realized I said loft and not shaft. Yeah, I agree about the shaft. Its stock. Just need to hit some different ones when I get a chance. Finding chance is proving difficult, though

That's huge. I'm a pretty long hitter, and that is about the upper limit of my 15 degree 3w. What does your long iron/FW wood/hybrid setup look like?

I have a Nike hybrid propping up one corner of my storage room because I never could hit the thing well. I miss having a hybrid from the rough and chipping at times, but I just can't find a place for it in my bag. I carry a 1,3,and 5 wood, and a 4i.

I do driver, 15 deg 3 wood and 2h then 3 iron.

The game imrovememt hybrids all absolutely suck, period. Hook machines with garbage shafts.
