never had that, but I got the full swing shanks early on. I literally couldn't hit anything below my 7 iron. I actually bumped a few 3 woods from 120 or so when I was most exasperated. Took me a good month to get completely out of it. I was looping the club way inside based upon some really poor advice. That, combined with a relatively large lateral slide doomed me. I would have preferred a 240 carry over water to a 90 yard wedge at that point. The worst is when you start shanking pitch shots. Full swing shanks are tough to deal with, but there's nothing quite as demoralizing as not being able to hit a green from 20 yards away.

that's fine, and i agree.
but i'm not attributing it to having to wait 15 minutes on every tee box on any random weekend at the local public course.
i remember reading somewhere there's courses in Great Britain that will escort you off course for slow play. that's the way to fix the problem. i've rarely heard of that around here, and certainly not just for slow play.

While we're on this topic: how many of you guys have ever "sent a message" to a brutally slow group in front of you?
Agreed. I went through a period where everything less than a full swing magically found the hozel. I have also lived through two bouts of full swing shankitis. Neither are any fun, but the short shanks are worse IMO. At least when they creep into a full swing, I've got enough sense to quit, practice, or go get help.
I'm going out this afternoon and playing a gruge match against the wife to get her ready for the ladies club championship. I had planned on beating the tar out of her until I remembered that she is better than me.
Some things you just don't admit...or work like hell to correct!

I disagree. It only takes 1 or 2 groups to clog up a course and they'll cause problems whether tee times are 8 minutes or 20 minutes apart.
it's at this point they need to be escorted off the course.
When did Golf become a race?????
I don't like slow play either, but it still beats doing almost anything else. A little patience will help.
If we are so busy that we need to play fast...maybe golf is not the game we need to play!
In a Tourney....I love slow play because I can eliminate alot of players because they don't have the mental strength to overcome it!!!!
Relax...you will play better and enjoy your time on the links MORE!
Ya'll play the wrong golf courses if it take 6 hrs to play. I have played the game for over 30 yrs and can count on one hand how many 6 yr rounds I've played!!!!
haul your cookies to a couple of wildly popular public tracks. 5-6 hours is the standard.
