Hillarious but true. It always takes me about nine holes to remember to hammer EVERY putt.

There's nothing worse than trying to beat a guy playing "old man" golf on a flat, 5,800 yard golf course with super slow greens. :mf_surrender:

The worst. Gotta Amen that one. Old men have learned that staying in the fairways is much more respectable than hitting a 280 yard oh crap drive.

the adage went, be wary of the guy with farmer's tan who carries a one iron. You've just surpassed it with the named putter.

...and never bet with an old man who has named his putter.

you have just described both my father in law and his old college roommate.

everytime we go play, my FIL pulls out the old wooden putter, named "billy" oddly enough.

and John, his old roomate, 1 iron off the tee just about every time.

Fired a 76 today and all is well with the world. I was actually giving playing lessons to a friend of mine who is a beginner. It was the most that I have thought about every one of my shots in the last two years. Maybe I should slow down just a bit.

Ironically, I double bogeyed the last hole today to also shoot a 76. I birdied #12 to get it back to Even for the day, but then went +4 on the last 5. :banghead2: I was mad for about 2 minutes before my playing partners verified to me that I was a complete idiot to be mad about shooting in the mid 70s.

The fallout from the round is that I took the hybrids out of my bag after I hooked them over and over and over again including two in the water on 16 and 18.

might look at the TP line of those or the tour model baffler from Cobra. Very few of them aren't heel weighted. The Bridgestone J33 is also neutrally weighted. I think the Sonartec MD hybrid is also neutral (that's why so many pros play it)

Shot a little 79 and it was an unbelievable round. One of the toughest courses anywhere and battled some rain. Hit it very well, putted like Sergio on a Sunday

I've got to do something. After the round I counted and I had 3 situations where I was playing a hybrid from the tee and not only did I miss the fairway, I missed the golf course.

I've been playing for a while, but I'm still not very good...no consistency. My club are a little too short, but I really REALLY need to be at the range more often.

I still like the setup and pop of the Cleveland Halo, but jut can't play it because of the draw bias. Searched quite a bit for the neutral ones and found one that I can hit high but flat and can cut.

OK guys please advise. I am looking for a hybrid to replace an old 5 wood. I generally hit it between 225 and 235. It has really been a wasted club in the bag for a while now. Hopefully it will be my father's day gift. Any suggestions?

The question is, how far do you hit your longest iron and how far do you hit a 3 wood?

It is a little deceptive because I hit my long irons well. That is one of the reasons I have held off to this point. On a good day I can hit my three iron 225 to 235. I hit my 3 wood 240 to 260 pretty consistently. I am looking for a rescue club that will give me a little more distance my three iron, with the possibility of more control. The only time I pull my 2 iron out of the bag is when I have a hooded hook to hit around trees.

If you hit the 3 iron that far with any consistency, I'd dump the 2 iron and add an extra wedge.

With carrying a 2 iron, that's the same loft's as most 5 woods.
I'm pretty sure a two iron is 19 degrees, and your 3 iron is 21 degrees.

What degree is your 3 wood, you should look to split the difference between your 3 wood and 3 iron.

So if your 3 wood, is 15 degrees and your 3 iron is 21 degrees you should go for a 18 degree hybrid..
