Golf is way to hard to be so simple.

My round Sunday improved considerably once I figured out that I was playing my short irons too far forward.

90, FTR.

I have a tendency to let the ball get forward in my stance too. Grip will strengthen if I don't check it often and ball position will get all jacked up. Shoulders will tend to get more open as I move it forward and I'll hit 'em straight up.

I've noticed that nobody in the golf thread ever hits one under 300.

there are some long knocking bastages up in this thread. I'm ready for the guy that talks about some trajectory control, spinning some chips or dying 'em in the hole. Woods are full of big hitters - and liars.

I hit it over 300 about 30% of the time. Out of that 30% of the time, it ends up in the fairway on average of 50% of the time. And of that 50% of the time, about 25% of the time it's not my fairway. Get what I'm saying?

I've started driving the ball better than I have in most likely my entire playing life. One adjustment of having more of a sweeping motion with the driver saved me lots of headaches.

I haven't had anyone look at my swing but ever since about mid July I didn't have as much bend in the knees or as much of a pause between upswing and downswing and I have been pounding the ball(according to my standards. average around 290-295 now) where as I used to only hit it about 260. I'm thrilled. Most of the time I can control it. Now about that damn short game...

widening at the top on the downswing (actually casting the club away from me) promotes that sweep and has helped throughout my bag. Nick Price was talking about it one night as a means to keep from getting stuck and it works for me - at least for now. Keeps me from dropping that right elbow into my side and dropping that back shoulder. Fought it my entire life.

Getting stuck with the driver has been my problem since day one.

One day on the range, an old lesson about skipping a rock popped in my head andwas one of those eureka moments.

Both are solid choices, not the best courses in the area but certainly not anywhere near the worst either. I enjoyed Litchfield a little more than Pawley's but they are fairly equal in quality.

I have never been a big hitter. Not short, just not long.

My short game and putting save me.

People hate playing w me because my ball striking is pathetic, but I can get up and down from a lot of weird awful lies.

At least that's why I think they hate playing w me.

As a kid playing junior and high school golf I was really short off the tee so I spent hours practicing every tuoe of pitch or chip so I have always had great touch.

I have always had the brother of the draw is the block issue.
