Not Mrs Cotton, but a shapely blonde, nevertheless.

I gave up dating ugly girls long before I got married. It was too hard on my liver.

If appearance is the deciding factor, you should support Mrs. Cotton. Ms. Murray is cute-ish but just a tad towards the thick side. Wife is hot, in my expert but admittedly biased opinion. I don't think you would find many that have met her that would disagree.

Thick girls need love too.

Wife lost her finals match, 3&2:sad:

She misclubbed once and bladed one out of the sand to find herself 2 down after 3. It's hard to catch up with somebody blowing it by you 30 yards off the tee when you can't make a put. She had 3 lip-outs on the day and never made a putt over 4 feet. I still like her, tough.

Overall, it was a good match, and the other girl played well. I have a feeling they are going to be alternating names on the Club Championship plaque for some time to come.

I am coming to Knoxville next weekend for the game and staying through Monday. I need some advice from you guys on where to play a round that's nice and won't break the bank.

River Islands is the most scenic. Gotta get tee times through golfnow.com or they'll try to rape you. West end of town, Willow Creek, @ $50 with cart on the weekend, but an easy course to walk and save some $$.

I can't wait for Peter Uihlein to make his splash. I got to follow him around in his junior days and that kid could stroke it then. His swing was so silky smooth. I remember all the top high schoolers were waiting on hos college decision so they could follow him

winning the US Amateur might be the start of Uihlein's "splash". Chung made quite a challenge on the back nine today though.

He can flat stomp it. We were left of the landing area on #1 at Southern Hills last year for his quarterfinal match. Most guys were landing it near us. Uihlein flew the 30 foot tall tree we were standing under, granted he pulled it well left, but essentially chipped some sort of sand wedge back to the green from about 65 yards. It was absurd looking. He's a tall, athletic kid and made Fowler look like the caddy from the Disney movie about Ouimet.

lots of places have lost their greens this summer. it's been brutal on them.

even the greens at the KNS Open this weekend were borderline in some places.

No talk of the Ryder Cup picks from Monty yesterday? Or Kuchar winning a pretty big tournament as well?

Kuchar fan here. Swing is hideous, but dude works it around the golf course and gets it in the hole. Fun to watch him IMO. Hated his meltdown at Whistling Straits. His win should erase that and help our Ryder Cup team overall.

Ryder Cup is best golf event on earth (likely due to my hotheaded jingoism). Our team is awfully young, but has some serious heat from the tee. My guess is that the K Club will be tight, decent rough and greens rolling about a 4. Perfect recipe to kill us, regardless who Monte's team might have.

That said, Paul Casey and his coach are both pricks, so I enjoyed his snub. Justin Rose, OTOH, was just stupid, especially to take Donald.

I don't think anybody will have a chance against the Molinari brothers. Those guys can play together.

I was confused about the Rose snub too. Doesn't Monty have his fair share of rookies too? Can Westwood play?

Molinari brothers are interesting: one's a good ball striker and awful putter and the other is dead opposite. Both are rookies. I'd expect them to be so-so at the very best.

Rose and Casey snubs were silly, especially because that team is loaded with rookies. I think half the squad is first timers.

OK, time for the Monty custard story.
That would be the 1995 World Match Play at Wentworth. I had beaten him in a playoff for the PGA Championship at Riviera a couple months earlier, so when we got paired in the second round, it was being built up over there as a rematch, a chance for him to gain revenge. Anyway, we're having lunch in the clubhouse there, which is a castle. Lisa and I are eating a little sandwich off in the corner. Monty has maybe 25 people at his table, royalty and all, with a fabulous buffet. Part of the spread is this huge custard castle, a replica of the one we're eating in. So Monty gets up and goes toward the custard, and he wiped out the whole west side of the clubhouse, an entire custard wing including maybe part of the locker room. I think to myself, Isn't that nice of Monty, scooping up all that custard for all those people at his table to share? Well, damned if he doesn't sit down and eat the whole thing himself. I turned to Lisa and said, "There ain't a man alive who can eat that much custard and beat me." I won, 2 and 1.
