Post your first round in 70s. If never **** there go 80s or breaking 100.

First round of 70s was as a 12 year old at skylinks golf course in long beach.

Shot a 75. I was super pumped. Never have shot in 60s best round ever is multiple 73's.

Any time ever gotten clise to 60s I have choked.

First round in the 70's was at the age of 15. Shot in the 60's for for the first time at 19. Lowest I ever shot was a 64, due to an eagle hole-out from 80 yards out on the 18th.

However, the lowest tournament round I've ever shot is a 67. And before the 64 that was my previous best.

Nice.

I have a tendency to let the ball get forward in my stance too. Grip will strengthen if I don't check it often and ball position will get all jacked up. Shoulders will tend to get more open as I move it forward and I'll hit 'em straight up.

Or yank them left. When my grip migrates, it is my right hand that gets underneath, which I guess is strengthening it.

It is hard to make good habits permanent when play is intermittent.

I've had a good day if I'm in the low 80s. Can't seem to get over the hump, though. Low round is 81.

Tiger, Zach, Cink, Fowler. I'm not 100% sold on Cink this year - that's the only one I take issue with. Like the Fowler pick, though - pretty gutsy to bring in a non-winner, but the guy is a birdie machine when he's on. Thoughts?

Hate the Fowler pick over a guy like Glover, who drives it well and doesn't look like an utter idiot every time he steps on the course. Glover has played under some intense pressure, the likes of which Fowler has never seen.

I think I've hit two drives my entire life over 300 yards, and they both went about 305. I average about 280-285 though, so I won't complain.

I'm almost deadly 120 and in though. I had that scare that BPV and GA walked me through about two years ago on here where I couldn't hit a wedge to save my life. Now if only I could hit my irons and have a straight driver in the same round I could be really good. Haven't played much in the past two years, but I'm in the mid 80s right now.

getting to play much since you're at a quasi permanent spot?

yeah... I probably play 4-5 times a month now and things are turning around. Played twice over the long weekend and I had a blowup on one hole each round that cost me much better scores.

There are so many courses I can't wait to check out down here and I'm not just talking about Pinehurst.

Do not overlook #8.

Whenever I get back, I'm making sure to put Pine Needles on the agenda, too, if for no other reason than to see how the wife handles it.

I'll man up
I've hit one in my life, 308 down hill and down wind...

My home course has cart paths that are slightly scalloped so that water will drain off the fairways and into drains which are in the concrete. On #3, a downhill dogleg left par 5, I once hit a ball that was hooking into the left rough toward the path. As I started looking for the ball, the group ahead of me started waving at me and pointing . . . the ball had trickled onto the cartpath and rolled perfectly all the way down to the green where it magically bounced off into the rough pin high left . . . 510 yards from the tee. :eek:k:

Did you salvage a par?

I see where you're coming from, but Zach and Cink give you big-time pressure experience (major championship winners) - I think you need at least one wild card who is a threat to go seriously low every time he tees it up. And right now, that guy certainly isn't Tiger. And A.K. isn't available. A Bubba/Fowler pairing would be fun for foursomes.

DJ wins today.

Dude turned it up down the stretch when it mattered. He now has the most wins on Tour under the age of 30.

Just a matter of time before he's a major champion.

Moore looks as ridiculous an Fowler, who by the way, didn't qualify for the Tour Championship yet is playing in the Ryder Cup.

of course, neither did Tiger Woods.
