The Golf Thread

You guys are making me jealous. I'm STILL hitting Wilson Fat Shafts, which I know makes BPV cringe in horror. Cleveland 460 Composite TI driver, 11 degrees, about three generations behind current technology. Nike CPR hybrids, 17 and 26 degrees. Odyssey White Hot putter. Srixon Soft Feel or Titleist DT Solos. (just don't seem to get enough extra spin out of the Pro V1's; don't have enough swing speed due to serious hip issues)

Something tells me I need an equipment upgrade.
Doesn't make me cringe. I think people should hit what works and that iron technology is more talk than reality. The drivers are definitely better and hybrids a big difference maker, but the rest is about confidence in my mind. My irons are old and my putter just an new rehash on an old model.

My driver is the only newer stick in my bag and it replaced a TM 510 TP from about 2003 or 2004.

My 3W is a Callaway X Tour 15
My Hybrid is Bridgestone J33,18 deg
3-PW are MacGregor VIP Blades
Vokey 254 and 260 Wedges
TM Kia Ma Imola Putter

Seriously nothing special in my bag. I do use aftermarket shafts in most of my sticks.

i'm getting new grips on my 704 cbs this weekend (4-pw).
clevelend 56 cg12 sw and 60 cg15 lw
superfast driver 10.5
tm rescue 18
odyssey 2ball putter right now
bridgestone balls

i'd like to get a new 3w.

i still suck but i have a lot of fun with this rig.

I try to like Mickelson each year at the beginning of the season.

One round in and I just revert back to disliking him.

Just picked up an Adams 15° S Speedline. No clue if I can hit but for as cheap as it was I'll figure it out.

Supposed to be almost 60 tomorrow. I guess I'll find out then.

No, period. Wait for the interview, when he turns that parachute on his head backwards. Allsome.

That was actually what prompted my post. With the hat flip around backwards, he looked like a gay speed skater.

Can anyone tell me if a fatter grip would promote a fade, push... (irons only)

I've tried everything to get rid of my nasty draw hook banana, someone suggested a jumbo grip.

Thoughts?

Chances are it's more of a swing issue, but some people use larger grips or extra tape under the right hand to slow down the release of the hands a little.

I'm with GaVol, it's typically more of a swing issue/flaw.

Picture your target line (where ball is at rest to where you want your ball to land) as home plate to center field in baseball. If you're hitting a draw/hook more than likely it's all in the timing of your release. As a swing thought think of swinging "out" to right field (right-handed golfer). You want to exaggerate the feeling of holding the club square before releasing.
