The Golf Thread

I had a round last week where I had a 6 shot differential between front and back and that's about as big a difference as I can remember having. 10 shots is crazy; especially when the low number is on the back 9.

2 ob balls and a water ball on the front. Hitting my 3rd on the tee on a long par 5 into the wind led to a 9. I'm way streaky. Have been in every sport I ever played. Hit every gir and fir on the back after I realized my score for the day was shot.

For people in the Atlanta area, I got an email from the GSGA saying that they are selling tickets to the Tour Championship 2 for 1 thru Sunday. I think the pairs cost $20 for the practice round, $40 for Thurs/Fri and $55 on the weekend. Factor in free parking and this may be the best deal to see elite level golf that I've ever seen.

Do you still park at turner field & take a shuttle to east lake?

I'm pretty sure that's the only option. I kind of like it though since it's only about a 10 minute bus ride and the parking is so close to the interstate.

So, I'm having some trouble with my hole in one. They finally posted it on the plaque in the clubhouse over the winter, but they had the date wrong. I politely asked the pro to correct it. I checked it out recently, and they fixed the date, but now they have it on the wrong hole.

I guess I'm going to get the pro to fix it again, but it is approaching the point of "not worth the trouble."

It's kind of pathetic they can't get it right.

On another note, I played in a one man scramble this past weekend. Fun format, although I didn't take advantage of any of my "mulligan" putts and there were plenty of them. Format was two mulligans per hole, but you could only take one per shot.

don't feel bad, they should get it right

Interesting. If you hit your mully, do you have to use it?

Yeah, I'm concerned that when the alien archeologists dig up that plaque in 2867ad they get correct information.

Wow
Webb just gave Bubba a gift on 15...grounded his club to tap in and the ball moved...
one stroke penalty, now tied for the lead

Don't muck it up now Bubba

Nice win for Bubba. I have to admit, I'm becoming a fan.

Hard not to like. He's a bit of anti-golfer, from swing, to hair, to background to speaking. Oh, and he can bust it.

He gets his hands so high in that back swing I have no idea how he keeps it on plane. I'd be all over the course if tried anything like that.

Bubba's fun. He's stupid long, and he's kinda like Seve on steroids, with all of those crazy 40-yard draws and fades and the fact that he's seemingly unable to hit a straight shot. But I just don't think he can win on a tight course.

He is tall & lanky with long arms & has probably one of the widest swing arcs ever. Impact is all that matters.

Tiger said that the only player he has ever watched on the range was Bubba. I'd like to follow him in a tournament some time.

Yes, but another interesting rule was that you had to decide IMMEDIATELY. You couldn't go down and see if your drive was ok or not if it was close to trouble. The tournament was played at a old school club with doglegs and large trees. Sometimes you can't tell if your drive is ok or not.

If anyone in the Panama City Beach area is wanting to play golf, looks like the family and I will be heading down the week of the 16th.

The golf course I work at sells Adams golf clubs, and the other day I hit the new Adams Speedline driver, I liked it.
