The Golf Thread

so why did a new thread have to be created?

When threads reach about 12,000 posts, they start to create lag on the server so we close the original thread and create a new one. That's why you sometimes see threads with Roman Numerals in the title denoting an additional thread being created.

Ah. Thanks.

Glad to see a Mod (likely you GA, you're the only golf Mod I know of) put in the work to keep Finey on the front page. He's a legend of old times here.

The kid from Dandrige won the Knoxville Open with a birdie on 18.

Of course he got himself in that spot with birdies on 14, 15, and 16.

We follwed the money leader around the front 9 before the rain came. He seems to be a smart player.

you think??????:)

I've got a cabin in Townsend next weekend for the game. Along with fly fishing I want to play golf. Anybody played the Laurel Valley in Townsend or nearby course?

I haven't played Laurel Valley in years. Probably about 15 years. I used to play it a lot. Always enjoyed it. Great setting.

Won a Vokey 60* and a TaylorMade Rescue 11 TP 18* hybrid on eBay tonight. Never used a hybrid before and going to see if it can replace my 5 wood. Pumped to add another Vokey to the bag too. Waiting is going to be hard!

Haven't been happy with not getting to the next stage of my games, which is to be more consistent and stay in single digit handicap. I watched a European tour player hit, then watched the club champion hit, so after 15 years, I just changed my grip. My left hand is more on top of the club, whereas I have had my left hand more neutral. It feels funny and I need to adjust but the ball is finally sounding good coming off the clubhead.

Got some half-price action in at River Islands this weekend. Perfect for a recent college grad trying to treat his dad.

Shot of the day was a 7-iron on the par-3 third over the water. Stuck it to about 10 feet and promptly missed the birdie putt.

since I'm afraid to post in the main forum after my "objectified" stance towards the season, I'm just going to place this here so I can say I posted it somewhere.

I still think 7 wins will be a great year, but I was quite impressed with the performance. I think Worley did an admirable job and there should be absolutely no qb controversy whatsoever at this point. His throws were a tad late but it wasn't a velocity issue, it was timing. Funny how quickly negative the main board has turned though.

In other news, I kinda sorta feel bad for Sergio. I've never disliked him so that may be part of it, but I guess he's just never going to fully get it together.
