I wouldn't have minded seeing Sergio win either, but he couldn't follow Saturday with another round in the mid 60's

Decided to stop in Augusta last week on my way to the beach via a trip to Atlanta first.

Despite all the previous descriptions of the area, it still wasn't what I expected.

it's a little underwhelming, until you walk onto the grounds of Augusta National

Underwhelming would be and understatement. The vacant strip mall across the street is a nice touch.

I think it's interesting all the gates have tarps except Magnolia Ln. It's like they want to tease you on purpose. I was a bit tempted to sit in the turn lane until somebody chased me off.

Should have turned in and told the guard you were there to meet Joe

When he asked Joe who

Told him Joe Momma

Haven't been happy with not getting to the next stage of my games, which is to be more consistent and stay in single digit handicap. I watched a European tour player hit, then watched the club champion hit, so after 15 years, I just changed my grip. My left hand is more on top of the club, whereas I have had my left hand more neutral. It feels funny and I need to adjust but the ball is finally sounding good coming off the clubhead.

I started with that grip (I go Vardon) back in the early 70's. Taught to me by Jack Brun, former TN PGA champ and teaching pro that was on tour for a couple of years in the 60's. If you are a swinger of the club and not a right sided hitter it works great. The last three fingers of the left hand are the key. They pull the club down and the back of the left hand leads through the hitting area. The longer you keep it on line through the ball the farther it will go and the straighter it will be.

The bad thing for me is that I went with the crowd and started going for more right sided power and changed my grip accordingly as the years went by. Now in my late 50's and have killed my rotators. Totally lost my swing with my irons. So a couple of months ago I went back to the old grip/swing and it was like magic. I look forward to getting out there again. Play to a 6 now, but think I can get it down a couple.

Good luck with the change.

FWIW and I am not affiliated. For moving excess clubs and getting the PGA value without dealing with credit toward purchases stuff go to Golf Club Brokers on line. Google trusted site. They are out of GA. Enter the club types and get the quote on line.

I sold 11 clubs this past week - Taylormade, Adams, Cleveland and Ping of all types. Got the PGA value. Since it was for over $200 they paid the UPS shipping charge except for boxing it up. Got an email two days later of the receipt. Got a check two days after that in the mail. All my clubs were in good condition and clean with headcovers. However, they will still give you a lesser price for damaged clubs.

since I'm afraid to post in the main forum after my "objectified" stance towards the season, I'm just going to place this here so I can say I posted it somewhere.

I still think 7 wins will be a great year, but I was quite impressed with the performance. I think Worley did an admirable job and there should be absolutely no qb controversy whatsoever at this point. His throws were a tad late but it wasn't a velocity issue, it was timing. Funny how quickly negative the main board has turned though.

In other news, I kinda sorta feel bad for Sergio. I've never disliked him so that may be part of it, but I guess he's just never going to fully get it together.

Quality post in all regards - I agree. 7 wins is successful, Sergio is talented but a head case. I think the passing timing will improve as the OC dials in to what Worley does best combined with the related primary receivers and what they do best. Add in he has to trust that his receivers will be where they are supposed to be. Worley sees the field - which is a big deal with inexperienced QB's. Velocity is a false issue. Dude's been clocked in a game at 50 mph - which is average pro velocity. Posters pull for their favorite to get the job when they should be pulling for the coaches to be right in who they name as best for the job. It's all noise as you know.

One of the most stupid things in all of sports that people can call in violations.

Have a look at this video. The ball maybe moves slightly, but never changes positions. Completely idiotic that they called this on him.

Woods penalty on the 1st Hole - PGA TOUR Video

Can't the ball move as long as it doesn't move position. I mean if it oscillates & returns to same position it's no penalty.

I've watched it twice, and can barely see it move, and it's exactly like CC say's..It didn't change position

but for the love of golf, please stop the call in on rules violations
