The Golf Thread

Boys, I got a hole in 1 on a par 4 today. Knocked out the Ace and the albatross. Can't believe it. 292 with a back left pin. Hole #2 at westhaven golf club in franklin if you are bored and want to see the hole. I always go for it because if I pull it in the water I can still get up and down often. Skirted the fairway Arthur hills bunkers and rolled. We didn't know and thought it went over into the hazzard. Most people hit an iron and wedge due to the hazzard left and deep of the green.
Have a drink on spart tonight. 43 years old and hit the shot today. Should've walked off, KP style.
Scorecard pic is in the zone under "Somebody" thread.

That's big league!

Had an albatross last year on a Par 5 and had some hole in ones on Par 3's - but to have both on the same Par 4 hole is simply outstanding! I would be tempted to hang it up.

What do y'all think about the revised PGA tour scheduling? They started the new 2013-2014 season this week in Vegas with 6 tournies this fall that count toward FedEx points, etc.

I definitely like it. More playing opportunities. I also think its good for the game to be expanding overseas

I agree. It has been amazing to see the tour get through international economic squeeze and still grow into the monster it is becoming. Some really talented guys play this game worldwide now.

Went on vacation to Gulf Shores, AL a couple years ago and played at a course called Kiva Dunes. Was literally right along the beach, it was an amazing sight. On top of that, the golf course itself was in a great shape (although this was expected due to the price). Wasn't exactly the easiest course in the world though, but that made it all the more fun.

got my hole in one plaque today. I tell you what, even though it was lucky to go in, it's been a confidence builder. I had taken lessons and was playing the worst I ever have. a 7.5 handicap that went to an 11. Changed my swing the day and fiddled around too much. Went back to basics the day before the shot with my own swing thoughts:
-compact swing,
-rt elbow follow my hip-if I get too "army", my elbow will come inside my hip too fast, which is when I know I'm not using enough hip turn. The instructor talked about shoulder turn but I can't think that way
-and don't chicken wing with my left elbow
If you guys are just poking around the internet, Home (stopwhiningandplaybetter.com tour home page)
We were bored enough to start our own tour. Records, blogs, etc. Top 4 each quarter get taken to dinner and drinks by the rest, as the last 2 get to pay for transport. I'm Scooter Smiff. Having a great q4. None of us can play competitive stuff anymore so this is it.
