The Golf Thread

I've about decided that all golf shoes were designed by an effeminate blind man. I've needed shoes for a month but every time I look, I end up shaking my head.

In the last week alone, I've returned two pairs off Amazon that looked great in the pictures, but horrible in person.

At this point I'll probably just put my old pair in the washing machine.

I don't know what happened. It's like since all the casual shoes hit the market, the bowling shoe look has become en vogue. There's a lot of cheap looking clown shoes out there right now.

I replaced my DryJoys with more DryJoys. One pair of all black, one pair of all white. Also bought these:

I actually like those. Just wonder how easy it will be to keep them clean.

Yeah, it hasn't been dry enough for me to try them out. The all black DryJoys really aren't that bad looking to me. I'm not a fan of multi colored saddle shoes and most of the new casual shoes. Those in the pic above are my first pair of spikeless. A little nervous about that.

My problem is that I'm absolutely addicted to FJ's no lace system because of the way they fit, but they just don't offer many decent options.

You can get the DNA in the no lace system. I like their look, but hated how they feel. At least the laced version.

I like FJ but I have a real problem spending 200 bucks on golf shoes. I don't even spend 1/4 of that on my gym use, and I use those 4-5 times a week.

The sneaker version I bought was $85 and the DryJoys were $120. The DryJoys will last 4 seasons minimum.

Why do you think I asked where you found them? I wasn't just banging the keyboard to hear myself type.

Chill man. Just messing with you. But all online sites will be drastically cheaper than FJ itself. And your local pro shop is probably even cheaper. No need to get so defensive.

I understand how online shopping works. It's how I found my set of irons last year. But I'm asking specifically where you got yours, in hopes that I could go to the site. But if it wasn't online, so be it. I'm sure I can figure something out.

I got mine through my local course here (Sewell's Point). Dick's Sporting Goods had the spikeless model, but only in black and gray. I wanted the blue and white ones, so had my pro shop order them. Still wound up cheaper than Dick's, but I think they get a deal by being a military course.

So I discovered today that I cracked the shaft on my 3 wood. I must have done it the last time I played. Anyway, it's the original Rocketballz and I'd prefer to not buy a new one if I can find an affordable shaft. Is there something standard for a 3w that won't break the bank? I'm a feel guy, but I don't have the luxury of trying a bunch out. I'd hate to lose this club.

A lot of times the company will replace it on the cheap, if not free with the same (or current model of the same) stock shaft. Take it to a pro shop and have them see what TM will do.

Anyone ever play the TaylorMade Rocketbladez? I hit them the other day at play it again and liked them pretty good. Was hitting the 5 iron about 200 right down the middle, although I never put too much stock in the simulators.
