Anyone ever play the TaylorMade Rocketbladez? I hit them the other day at play it again and liked them pretty good. Was hitting the 5 iron about 200 right down the middle, although I never put too much stock in the simulators.

Yeah I wouldn't put too much stock in sims. You should be hitting your 5 Iron way further than 200. :p

Good finish today, would have like to seen spieth win. He's got a bright future, look forward to him competing and hopefully winning some majors.

Spent the weekend at Hilton Head for the Heritage. Walked up to the 8th green on Friday as Jordan Spieth pitched in for birdie and decided to follow him. He finished with 62 and it was easily the best round I've ever watched live. Harbor Town is so tight that it's nearly immune to big hitters so the only way to go low is to just generate shot after shot after shot.

I think that's the reason Tom Watson made the cut. He is still a great ball striker and competitive if the course is not too long.

As a matter of fact ... Watson played the first two days with Russell Henley - whose brother I grew up with. So I saw a ton of him on Thursday and Friday. It was shocking how long Watson still is at age 65. He was on a couple of par 5s in 2 and was getting it out there far enough with the Driver that he was at least staying in touch with Henley and Luke Donald. His swing looks the same as it did 30 years ago and he's still punching draws out there probably 270 when he nails it. It wasn't like he was hitting a bunch of hybrids on approach shots.

I saw Wastson play years ago and got to look at his clubs up close. His forged irons had wear spots about the size of a dime. Shocked me because I know what my wear spots look like. :)

That is funny that you said that. I remember telling a few people of seeing Watson addressing his ball in the left rough of some tournament on tv maybe 25-30 years ago. The announcer said that he had pulled out his 4 iron. Just after that the camera zoomed in for an extreme closeup of the face of the iron. I think it was when he played Ram blades. It had a spot worn on the center of the face a couple or three grooves up that looked the size of a button on a shirt.

It was 83 or 84 when I saw them. Will be sad to see his last go at the Old Course this summer. I think he could make that cut too.

I played Sawgrass about 10 years ago in a scramble tournament for a conference. And of course at 8 in the morning we were group 17B. None of the four of us could hit on.

I've played it nice and hit it to the center of the green. It's really not that difficult but.... I can see where it would be a little perilous if you start firing at pins near the edge and the wind starts blowing.

That was about as good as it gets for the back nine of a tournament. Fowler could be really really big with a little consistency.

So some of his mental midget competitors think Rickie is overrated. lol.

5 year tour exemption; 3 year Masters, US Open, British Open exemptions, in the PGA this year; $1.8 M in his pocket plus more in endorsements. How do you like him now, idiots?

It's because you like the gators and you suck. Real men can stick a wedge on a giant green.
