It’s not that he brought up human rights abuses. It’s that in the next sentence he dismissed human rights in favor of a sweet deal for golfers so they could leverage the PGA Tour. He couldn’t have looked more tone deaf, elitist and opportunistic if he tried.Am I missing something…. Or are companies really severing ties w Mickelson because he brought up Saudi human rights abuses? Is that right?
I think Phil indirectly killed it with his comments. By pointing out their specific atrocities, the players serious about it realized they’d be attached to that if they joined the league. I think it’s gone before it starts.
Oh I thought that was a rhetorical question. He states all the concerns he has and then says, “and I’m going to look past that just to reshape the Pga?”It’s not that he brought up human rights abuses. It’s that in the next sentence he dismissed human rights in favor of a sweet deal for golfers. Obviously, his comments were not meant for the public, but he couldn’t have looked more tone deaf and elitist if he tried.
Exactly… and “reshape the tour” is code for “guarantee more money”. Phil’s mouth and ego got ahead of his brain.Edit: nvm I re-read it. It wasn’t rhetorical he was saying he would overlook it because of the opportunity to reshape the tour

In one sentence, Phil took the SGL from a possibility to toxic. If Callaway is walking away, you’d have to assume other sponsors will want no part of players going over there to play.
I agree. It's just a horrible look for Phil. It’s not that he brought up human rights abuses. It’s that in the next sentence he dismissed human rights in favor of a sweet deal for golfers so they could leverage the PGA Tour. He couldn’t have looked more tone deaf, elitist and opportunistic if he tried.
I had one of those in my hands yesterday. I don't see how in the world anybody can release the club with a grip that big. I guess if you've got really active hands or you tend to be flippy, it would have to slow them down.Anybody else tried jumbomax grips? I got one to try out on one club just for the heck of it and I ended up doing my whole set. Part of it was that they felt good and I was hitting the ball much more solidly. The ball flight is different as well, which is a good thing. Another reason I went all in was after holding the regripped club for awhile and hitting some shots it was almost impossible to go directly back to a standard grip. It felt so tiny and weird, like gripping a pencil. Anyway I played a round Sunday and hit the ball really well. Like I said before, the ball flight is different through the set. It’s a higher ball flight but stronger at the same time, if that makes sense. Not sure how a grip would affect that but it has. Maybe from hitting the ball more solidly. Now my problem is the putter. The grip on it, which is a SS pistol gt 1.0, feels tiny. I felt uncomfortable holding it all day and had about three 3 putts and missed a handful well inside of 10 feet. I think I’m going to put the 2.0 on my it with a couple extra wraps of tape. I’m definitely getting something bigger. FYI I went with the small Jumbomax which are still considerably larger than a standard grip.

Only thing oversized that I use is on my LW. The large grip seems to take a lot of tension out of my hands around the green. I don't know how to explain it, but it feels like I'm able to "dead hand" the ball a little more when I want to hit soft pitch shots.I couldn’t do XL that’s for sure. I think I always needed something larger than standard to begin with. I’m actually the opposite with my hands but always found myself tinkering with my grip (hand placement) and the larger grip doesn’t give you much room for tinkering so maybe that’s part of it.
Morikawa is a good pick. I’m thinking Hovland, 3 top 10s in his last 5 outings. Finished 21st last year at Augusta. Thinking he might break through this week. Also, who ya got this week? Scheffler has been playing about as good as he ever has. Matsuyama is the defending champ and always plays Augusta well. I figure both will be in till the end.
I'm gonna go with Morikawa to get the Green Jacket this year.
Threw a little change on JT, Scheffler, and Cameron Smith. Also, who ya got this week? Scheffler has been playing about as good as he ever has. Matsuyama is the defending champ and always plays Augusta well. I figure both will be in till the end.
