The Golf Thread

the radio reported that they do $850k per hour in sales at the store and will sell $50m for the week. $50 million is hard to imagine.......unless you've been there the you say "yeah, I can see it"
Not sure about today.........but at one time the Head Professional got a nice commission from the sales.
Nice gig!

Thank you, it’s great to be in that club.

And yes, my receipt at the merch store had a comma in it. That place was bananas, it’s kill or be killed in there. 😁
I dropped about $600 the 1 time I was there . Easily could’ve been 4 or 5 X that. Would love to go back at some point.

Any of you guys in the Chattanooga area interested in putting a team together.

Shot an 80 for the first time the other day. Had a 10ft putt for birdie on 18 to shoot 79 and just barely lipped out. Shot a 43 on the front nine and a 37 on the back. Feeling really good about my iron and wedge play but the driver is all over the place. If I could get the driver figured out I should be able to break 80.
I've gotten so close several times since this round, yet I have faltered every single time. TBH, I think it's a mental thing. I try not to think about it (breaking 80) but I always get nervous and end up bogeying or doubling the last 2 holes. I always end up hitting a really bad shot at the most inopportune time.

If I could just break 80 once, I think I could do it consistently. It's just overcoming that mental hurdle.

Love The Masters but hate how they’ve made some holes offer nothing but carnage. The 5th and 11th offer zero entertainment value. The 4th and 18th aren’t far behind. Lengthening the 15th has made it a worse hole too imo. It’s like they make a few holes ridiculously difficult in order to try and keep the overall score where they want it because there’s so many holes they can’t do anything at all with. Even the 7th hole use to offer some excitement but not much anymore.

Isn’t golf just better with Tiger Woods in the hunt.
No. If the coverage wasn't all about him it would be fine, but every other shot is of Tiger walking, Tiger sizing up his shot... Tiger watching his shot.

He's a middle of the pack golfer. His time is over. Time to move on.

The Tiger love fest is sickening at this point.

I'm surprised how bad his putting has been.

Still though, I'm impressed he even made the cut given how much he's been through.
He started to look gassed the last few holes. It’s going to be a struggle for him just to finish the tournament.

I didn’t think he’d make the cut, so tbh he exceeded my expectations considering this is a 46 year old man playing with a surgically fused back and a leg being held together by bubble gum and paper clips

I'm not a Woods fan and I've been "anti-Tiger" in the past but come on.

For one the fact he even is playing competitive golf is amazing considering there was a real possibility after his crash he'd never play again.

Two, like it or not, even at 46 and on the "back 9" of his career, he's still the biggest ratings draw in the PGA. Interest in the Masters, the Super Bowl of the PGA season, still jumped up when he was announced he was playing.

It's not Tiger Woods' fault that he's still by far the biggest ratings draw. They don't follow him around becaue they love him, they follow him around because he brings in ratings and interest which equals money.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to observe the crowd following Tiger at Augusta. He moves the needle further than anyone, even not playing very well. You woke complainers should find a new thread.

Watching Tiger Woods and playing those old Tiger Woods golf games is what got me and many others into golf to begin with.

The boomers just don't understand this.

Showed the famous Tiger chip in at 16 in 2005 and then played Tiger saying the two shots on 17 and 18 then felt so good. They conveniently left out how Tiger actually bogeyed 17 and 18 to drop into a playoff with Dimarco. Funny how the media works.
