The Golf Thread

I’ve hit my Dads P790s and I like them though I recently bought a set of PXGs. The leaderboard on Sunday will no doubt be packed.

I'm switching to Mizuno 225s. Look like a blade, but doesn't perform like a blade.

With that being said.........Mizuno 221s. Best "true blade" on the market.
I’m in a conundrum….. I’ve played blades my whole life. But I don’t play/practice enough that I should be playing blades, but because I don’t play/practice enough I can’t justify buying a new set of clubs. Those 225s look nice

All honesty…… You can find a used set of TaylorMade P790s. Really forgiving, but set up similar to a blade.
I’d give them a whirl

Unreal to see Tiger tee it up today 13 months after his accident. Nice par save on one. His swing looks good.

Isn’t golf just better with Tiger Woods in the hunt.

Rahm is the favorite I think.

Interested to see if Rory can get over the hump and get his first green jacket as well. He wants it bad.

Nice first several holes for Le Tigre, but rusty around the green on 8, and wincing after his tee shot on 9...

Finishes the round -1. Insane, definitely had more of a limp towards the end. Will see how he holds up tomorrow, but still crazy impressive to be under par today after everything that happened.

I just hope he didn't play too many holes in the lead up to the tournament that his body gives out at some point before the end of the tournament. Hadn't he already played something like 45 holes this week before today? 18 Monday, 18 Tuesday, and 9 yesterday?

Practice rounds are my favorite to go to

Yep, that was the consensus from the patrons I spoke with yesterday. The atmosphere is more relaxed and the players are accessible as they’ll be at any time during the week.

This was my first, and hopefully not last trip to Augusta. Our crew had a blast.

welcome to the club. you'll never watch the tournament the same. From now on every time you see it you'll remember exactly where you were on that hole.

Please tell me you spent a house payment at the store

Thank you, it’s great to be in that club.

And yes, my receipt at the merch store had a comma in it. That place was bananas, it’s kill or be killed in there. 😁

the radio reported that they do $850k per hour in sales at the store and will sell $50m for the week. $50 million is hard to imagine.......unless you've been there the you say "yeah, I can see it"

He’s played 18 total during the practice rounds.

$50M sounds like a conservative estimate based on what we saw. There were a couple weather delays on Tuesday and Wednesday, so given a full week of operation $50M doesn’t seem like a stretch.

At the checkout counter I asked one of the cashiers what’s the biggest merch tab she’s ever seen, and she said, “We’re not allowed to say.” She did say my tab didn’t come anywhere close to it. 😁
