The Great 2022 and Beyond Recession Thread

American oil production is higher under Biden than Trump. If a recession comes, it ain't from a "war on American oil." Stop watching so many of the leghumpers.

You and your geriatric great uncle keep making that claim that isn’t true along with many others. Oil production under the Biden administration is nearly 1.2 million barrels per month less than Trump highs

Economies are, at their base, people. And people respond to competence, and words, and emotions, and hedge against all those things.

Each individual piece isn't the economy, but when you have a leader that has openly threatened other parts of the economy there are consequences. Biden and his klown kar krew have openly threatened just about every industry (but pharma) and the consumers themselves.

What concerns me at this moment...these are currently good times

There’s A Fat Red Flag That America Just Entered A Recession

The Federal Bank of Atlanta released a major red flag Thursday that the U.S. economy just entered a general slow down of the economy or a recession.

U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the second quarter of 2022 fell to -1% based on available data for the current measured quarter, the Atlanta Fed reported.

The Atlanta Fed uses the GDPNow model as an unofficial forecast to estimate the U.S.’s GDP growth based on a similar methodology used by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, the fed stated.

“The GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the second quarter of 2022 is -1.0 percent on June 30, down from 0.3 percent on June 27,” the Atlanta Fed reported.

Recession, inflation, stagflation,I don’t care what economist are calling
it. All I know is that the cost of living is out of control. I have been retired
for ten years and my modest pension and SS are not keeping up with
the basic cost of living. Even worse, the value of my “nest egg” has
decreased substantially. These increases and cost will NEVER return
to what they were when I retired. On a fixed income , I am screwed.
I may take up bank robbery.

Or, you can ask your congressmen and senators to end these sanctions and bring back energy production and manufacturing to America.

We have tried that sensible action for years.
It’s just pizzing into the wind.

Actually we haven't. Shell games.
If the US was committed to say..self energy independence we prosper. Produce and consume at home takes all global commodities out of the equation. Indian and CCP are getting $20-30/barrel oil from Russia now. Commodities are only commodities within a trading sector. No sense in making a commodity global.
We are such a blessed nation in resources..and being played like fools.

I don't believe that's quite right. They are getting oil at a $20-$30 discount from what I understand. So they are paying $70-$80.
