Did you ever think that in the 1930's they didn't consider that the population growth was going to slow and the life span of people was going to increase? That's the problem with politicians, they don't think past their terms.

The problem is when FDR set it up as his legacy he knew it would never get repealed. There is a famous quote of his on that.

And it’s hard to not say it’s a lucrative program. But I didn’t have a choice so if I live that long shut up and pay me.

Put forth a plan today that shows solvency for the next 100 years (grabbed that out of my ass bit let’s be honest the polits won’t leave it alone anyway) that costs me a 25% haircut and I’ll vote yes on it today.
