How is DiCaprio not on anyone's list? His role in The Departed was great.

He's been big since the nineties. I wouldn't consider him in the new generation.

I don't think anyone really understands what this thread is trying to ask. Including me. Underrated actors under 35? Best actors under 30? Best actors under 40? Best actors under 46 to never win an oscar? OP needs to be more clear.

No I'm not being that specific because I don't want to rule anyone out just because of age or whatever. Basically it's like this:

I talk to my mom (who is in her mid-50s) about who are the best actors in Hollywood right now. So I throw out names like Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, Russel Crowe, etc. I am 26. She says when she was my age those guys were the young guys and Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston, Nick Nolte, etc. we're the big hitting actors.

So my question is: who of the "young guys" today do you think will be the "big hitters" when they are middle aged actors with some experience behind them?
