The Grill and BBQ thread

That's good to hear. We don't live there anymore but come down for vacation sometimes. We never knew why they closed the pier.
Wife grew up here and we moved here almost 5 years ago and the reason that was provided for the closure was the cost of upkeep. There was a petition and vote to keep it open but somehow it still closed. It has been an old fashioned goat rope but now maybe there is some headway in the resolution to this.

Grilled some double cut lamb rib chops last night using the "hot tub" method with fantastic results. Perfectly red and juicy all the way through with a thin rim of smoky sear.

Country style ribs, at least that's what Kroger call the cut of meat.

I've been thinking of buying a smoker. What good is an electric smoker?

People who have Masterbuilts seem to love them. They're programmable, have several racks. Pretty easy set-up and not too expensive.

They had some on clearance at Lowes down here a few months ago.

They look pretty good to me. I cooked some last night that were marinated. Tasty.

Country ribs aren't ribs. It's the cross-cut from the pork shoulder.

I love the hot tub method. I use my crockpot with a temp gauge. I've cooked burgers and steaks and they were fantastic.

My mind completely reconstructed that first sentence at first glance.

This is what I got today. Had an old gift card and got one for 169. Figured it was a relatively cheap way to see if I liked the hobby. Reviews online are pretty solid. I'm running it now to preseason. I'll have meat in it tomorrow or later this week.

I like the programmable aspect and not tending to things. Just add some chips every couple /few hours.

I've seen Masterbuilts at the Academy where I live. They seem very easy to use. It's just whether or not it holds true to the flavor.
