The Grill and BBQ thread

Forgot to post this on Sunday. Tried a coffee rubbed brisket and it turned out great!

When is the event? Are you still putting together ideas? Should be a lot of fun.

Super Bowl weekend. Still looking for ideas. Right now, we're thinking of going old school steakhouse for the theme. Steak au Poivre is a possibility. Depending on what the mystery ingredients are, sides could be creamed spinach/kale, caprese salad, wedge salad, etc.

What sides come to mind when you think of an old steakhouse?

Open to any ideas, even other themes.

Did this about a month back.

Meant to post this last weekend. I did OTT chili. Backfired. Now my wife refuses to make normal chili, she will only eat it this way

Participated in a small cookoff this weekend. Took 1st in both brisket and chicken, and we were named Grand Champion.

Really surprised we didn't place in the open category. We did Pork Belly Corndogs with Maple Syrup for dipping.

Edited to add photo. Kept having trouble trying to add from phone.

Congrats to you sir! That Pork Belly Corndog sounds amazing.

Tried something new. I seared my tri-tip as usual and moved indirect but this time I placed it on top of a basket full of veggies (asparagus and chorizo stuffed pasilla peppers).

I was really happy with the result as the drippings totally added to the flavor of the vegetables. Not to mention it made it super easy to make an entire meal.

Hey Cali -- or anyone else -- any suggestions?

For me when I think steak I think potatoes, seafood, and mushrooms. Obviously it really depends on what you have on hand but a few things come to mind: Brussel Sprouts with Balsamic and Bacon, Sweet Potato Fries with Parmesan and Garlic, Roasted Mushrooms with Garlic Butter and Rosemary, Chipotle Mac and Cheese, Drunken Mussels/Clams in a Sauce made with Guinness/White Wine/ or Vermouth (I prefer Vermouth TBH), Shrimp Lollipops I'm partial to this recipe: Caribbean Shrimp Lollipops Recipe

Just spitballin here. Love to hear what suggestions people come up with.

Thanks, man. We're still working through some ideas, but all suggestions are welcome. Thanks for the input!

Prime brisket on @ 10:15 for an overnight smoke. Salt and pepper only, box of beef stock and water in the pan, 225°...
