225-235 usually but probably a little hotter say 250 this morning, kinda overslept :)

That's a good temp. I hate it when I oversleep. I feel like I have to rush it a little.

I've done Boston Butts several different ways on my BGE. Last weekend I cooked one indirect between 250-275 and it was outstanding. Sometimes I do them raised direct between 325-350 (turbo butts) and they turn out great as well. I prefer a lower cooking temp but it's nice to know I can crank one out in 4-5 hours if need be.

Boca how do you like the BGE been thinking about one or one of the Acorns.

First spatchcock chicken on the Kamado last night. 375 direct for 55 minutes to 160 internal. It was fantastic.

Super Kroger has the Char-Griller version on closeout. Have been using one for 3 years and love it... Esp for 20% of the cost of an Egg.

First mop,getting good color

vols72,

I love my BGE. But as kiddiedoc said, he's had great luck with his less expensive one. Kamados are a little different if you're used to a regular grill or bullet smoker but once you learn to regulate your temps they're fantastic and versatile.

Would I trade my BGE? No. If I had an Acorn or another model, would I like...Yes.

Oh baby! What temp did you pull it?

It was 175-180 wrapped it and put it back on. Pulled it off about 30 min ago it was 203-205. Got it in a cooler covered with a blank so it can rest while the Wifey naps :)

Anyone ever used or seen a Kamado Joe? I'm currently deciding between it and a BGE.

Ive had my BGE for well over two years and I absolutely love it. You cant go wrong either way im sure. As long as you stick with a quality ceramic grill you're going to cook better food with less fuel. Before I bought mine I always wondered...is there really a difference? My first cook was bone in chicken breast and I had my answer. I'd never even seen chicken so moist and juicy. My buddy was also amazed. I really didnt enjoy grilling until I got my BGE. Good luck.

All finished
