The Halfcourt Trap NCAA Tournament Thread

The more evaluations I read the more it seems that I am about the only one that thinks UCONN is going to move on past UCLA and make the Final 4 out of that bracket. I have Kansas and UCONN in NCG.

Hat, you said you think UCLA and Kansas are the two best teams? Does my UCONN pick not have much chance to get by UCLA in your opinion?
UCONN is certainly talented enough to beat UCLA, I just wasn't very impressed with their play the last couple of weeks.

Hat, I also have Temple advancing more than most people do. I know they would have to play a popular "hot" team in the second round in Pitt. But I dont think I am as impressed with Pitt as others. What do you think of the play of Temple recently?

UConn was my darkhorse prior to the past couple of weeks, but they're a couple Thabeet fouls and Price implosion away from losing to anyone.

I'm interested to hear your take on WVU vs Arizona hat. At the moment I have WVU winning and actually beating Duke. I'm not sure if that's just me trying to get some upsets in my bracket, but I remember WVU played tough defense and actually beat a Marquette team which, like Duke, relies on a lot of threes.

Hope you post your South and West predictions soon.

any chance of Belmont beating the Blue Devils?

I doubt anyone else will tell you this, but I think Belmont has a fighting chance if, and only if, the threes are falling. Belmont is Duke minus the athleticism and superior coaching

Need to get off the UCONN pick probably. No team that has ever lost the first game of their conference tourney has won the NCAA's (ever.)

That does not mean it wont happen with UCONN. But I dont have UCONN winning it all. I just see them being the team that upsets UCLA.

Hat is cornell any good or do they play anyone of note? Is their record padded by wins over weak competition?

looks as though its weaker competition. they did play duke and lost by 14, Syracuse, lost by 16 tho.
