Anyone else think Vandy got seeded too high? I also think Wisconsin should have gotten Duke's 2 seed.

Some notes from John Calipari's teleconference today:
1. "We're really excited. I'm proud of the players and ecstatic about the opportunity."
2. Cal doesn't feel the season will be a failure if they don't get to San Antonio.
3. He thinks the energy his players expend on defense is one of the reason his clubs have traditionally been shaky from the foul line.
4. In the second round, against Oregon or Mississippi State, Memphis will "have to bring it" because those are two quality opponents.
5. He feels there are "6,7, maybe 8 teams that can win the tournament" with "25 who can get to the Final Four."
6. He doesn't think there's a clear cut favorite this year.

Hat...do you think UNC is the best team right now?

I mean do they deserve the overall #1 and will they defend it (i.e. at least make it to the final)

I haven't followed basketball closely outside of the SEC and ACC but I haven't seen anyone playing a more complete game than they are right now

Why is it that everyone predicts us to lose to L'ville?....the experts and I use that term loosely act like we have no chance against them

looks like they're pretty equally split.

In the end, we just don't have the feel of a tourney team. the talking heads love teams like G'town, who have big center and can play mean d with low scoring games. they default there every year.

The media pundits simply don't like Bruce Pearl's style of play. Its true that Tennessee doesn't really play halfcourt defense....at all. Yes, they pretty much
either get a steal or give up a dunk. I'm not disagreeing. But why does every media pundit and self-styled basketball "purist" look down upon them as a result? They beat some really good teams without playing any halfcourt D, and they beat a lot of them on the road. Why couldn't they continue to beat good teams without playing halfcourt D? UNC can't play halfcourt D either, but the media loves them....oh, that's right, that must be because they have america's favorite uncoordinated white basketball player who hustles and draws phantom fouls: Tyler Hansbrough. The man whose post moves resemble an elderly person falling down stairs. Of course.

I'm sorry I just puked a little bit in my mouth there.

Tennessee will beat louisville because we can score easier than they can score.

Correct. If they don't get it now, that matchup isn't happening (on this level) again. I want it all and I want it now!

I still think Kansas and UCLA are the two best teams in America.

So what's up with Kevin Love and these back spasms. Apparently someone on espn radio said he was not responding to treatment?

I'll have to rethink my bracket if true.

The more evaluations I read the more it seems that I am about the only one that thinks UCONN is going to move on past UCLA and make the Final 4 out of that bracket. I have Kansas and UCONN in NCG.

Hat, you said you think UCLA and Kansas are the two best teams? Does my UCONN pick not have much chance to get by UCLA in your opinion?
