Melvin Goins is one cool cat, he shines in big moments, especially once the spotlight is on him. His performance tonight was outstanding, along with the Vols defensive performance. I really didn't realize his presence on our team until the NCAA tournament last year. The guy is a competitor, defensive stopper and a great free throw shooter. His shoot seems to be off at the moment, so hopefully he can get it going again, but I am really proud of the way he has played.

So hat...getting off the floor and into the psychology a bit, I wonder if you would agree with this feeling I have that, for maybe the first time fully in the CBP era, I am watching a squad who isn't a fall-apart team; that is, in the past, no matter how well the 1st half went for us, the 2nd half was a total wild card, and a meltdown was at any point a real possibility. Obviously, it's incredibly early, but doesn't this feel more like a team with no 'quit' in the vocab?

This is a team that is capable of playing absolutely fantastic half-court defense. They have the potential if they continue to improve to be a better team than last year. Whether that will translate into better results remains to be seen.

This team matches up better on D than in the past.

Getting the guys that didn't play tonite back, will help that even more. Not expecting much O out of them, but you can never have too many defenders to put out there.

As long as a team plays really good halfcourt defense, they aren't going to be prone to suddenly falling apart.

They don't suck, but they have issues. They aren't better than we are. Nobody gave us much credit for Tobias and they were wrong. Nobody expected us to e able to pressure the ball because of our length and Golden addition. They were wrong.

They can, but it'll be a tall order. Pitt won't get frustrated and start firing threes if you defend them tough. They'll just keep coming at you.

Not good enough to beat an unimpressive ND team. Like I've said before though, there's a big difference in saying UGA is good and actually saying that they can contend for the East.

Question.

Has anybody said anything about how big this win is in regards to the experience that Nova has in MSG and UT's lack of winning much of anything in these and other tournaments and such ?
