So, as many have said here, Dooley 2.0!!!
Look if we have to start the excuses before he even coaches a game then I don't want him and recruits won't come for him.
I agree, but, that's what we did with Dooley as well. Based on Golden's W/L record and the teams he has been with, not sure that he will stand up to the rigors of the SEC. I don't think he will get more than 2 years to show significant improvement though.
Without a unifying coach (Gruden, Stoops), the fanbase will continue to be divided with a large portion just waiting for the first negative to pounce. JMHO.
He's a upgrade.. Although minimal.. Upgrading over Dooley isn't very hard though.. If they were to hire Golden i'd say he'd be in about the same boat as Dooley. Win games or you'll feel the wrath pretty fast.. He' wouldn't have any wiggle room here..Calling Dooley 2.0 just is not accurate. His record at Temple shows it. He turned that program from nothing into a winner. Dooley took over Tech a loser and left it a loser. Golden is in a bad spot in Miami. Without NCAA issues, both of his teams there the last 2 years would have went bowling. Something Dooley can not say.
How good of a recruiter is Golden? He walked into a terrible situation at Miami, in terns of recruiting as well, so it may be kind of hard to judge him on that. I think he is a better coach than many on here are giving him credit for.

I said if Hart hired Smart I was done. I'm hoping he doesn't go after Golden. I feel like we would be hiring another experiment!
I agree. When you have the NCAA about to drop the hammer on you, Miami or not recruiting is going to suffer. I would note that Miami has 10 kids so far in this class and 5 of them are rated 4 stars. He has kids committed from OH, VA, LA, NJ, and of course FL. Goldens recruiting class last year rated #9 in the country.
Based on the spot Miami is in, can they afford to let their coach leave? That would be a terrrible signal to recruits as it would look like the program is unravelling in the face of NCAA sanctions
