Sentimore leaving is crazy! This guy didn't play at an elite level. I rarely even noticed him last year. Maybe he knows something we don't like he has a freakish 40 or verticle, but if not, this guy is a moron. Hell he wasn't even the best of the draft eligible d lineman. I'd think scouts would think a lot more of mcullers.

Mods, I think this tread being seperate from the others makes since because sentimore leaving wasn't really expected

You talk about how he didn't play at a high level and that you rarely noticed him. Why are you so upset that he's leaving?

All of them will make it on an NFL roster. CP - Bray - Hunter - D Sentimore. CP no doubt a freak athlete will be snatched up and utilized. Bray's footwork will be coached up by a team like the Vikings that are lacking a solid down field passer. Hunter would shine in the same type offense that presents AP - Bray - Percy. Sentimore has a motor when he wants to use it. Put him in a situation where $$ depends upon his performance, I think the kid has it. Sentimore realized that the classroom was not for him. If he puts his nose down he can shed some bad weight and muscle up. He will be a baller - if he wants it. He's a likeable kid that should spend a week or two with Ray Lewis.

Very surprised by this. Except for the Alabama games, he never really played at a high level. Think he becomes an UFA

I wish them well, but this is one thing that I actually like about college football over pro ... you just don't know what you might have on the bench coming behind them. Peyton left and we thought oh crap, but right after him was Tee and an NC.

Hunter will have trouble dealing with NFL press coverage. He will struggle against jams. Patterson will be a project, and Bray will struggle with speed of game. He's in for a rude awakening when it comes to the NFL pass rush.
Your post is probably pretty close to the truth. If the Seattle Seahawks get after Bray like they did RG III and Kirk Cousins, he will be in for a rude awakening. He is a project. Hunter may play more aggressively in the pros and extend himself to catch the ball, but he looks awfully frail to take the beating that comes from doing that. I honestly believe that he will spend a lot of time on injured reserve.

Patterson can make an impact on special teams right away, but still needs work to be a reliable receiver. Da' Rick will make a bigger impact as a receiver sooner than the others.

I think Sentimore made a big mistake and lost himself Millions of $$$ on his 1st NFL contract.

Another year with a better coaching staff, going back to the 4-3 D where he would probably play much better and have much better stats for the NFL to see probably would have moved him up the next years draft quite a bit IF he really worked at it.

Maybe he was told he's be a DT this coming year and he really wanted to be a DE or maybe school doesn't agree with him too much.

I wish him the best but he really didn't impress me alot this past season.

JUCO players can help faster IF they're really SEC type players and can learn the systems fast enough their 1st year BUT they also leave a hole that needs to be filled unless they come in the same year that we recruit a really good player at the same position that will learn and be ready to start when that JUCO player leaves in a year or 2.

JUCO players are mostly a bandaid/stop gap type of situation that coaches hope can become a starter their 1st year and will stay 2 years while they coach up the young kid that's just arrived.

Recruiting is a 4 year rotation process and you must fill the needs at every position and it takes 4 years of recruiting to get the rotation process going in the right direction so that from then on you always know what positions will be needed to filled 2 years in advance most of the time and coaches can start recruiting the replacements in the kids high school Soph or junior years to start building the relationships the right ways.

VFL...GBO!!!

Hard to argue with that.

Not really. Hunter(as much as his drops pissed me off) had a 1,000 yard season in the SEC and has had a major injury already, and will likely be taken in the 1st or 2nd round. Great money for him and his kid. CP will be taken in the 1st(if you disagree go check out a mock), because his talent is unbelievable. Look at some WRs taken in the 1st round the past few years, CP will be a star. Bray would have to learn a whole new system that won't really fit him which could make his stock slide even more. He won't go past the 4th and will be groomed accordingly. Best decision for those 3. Sentimore was going to be ineligible.

I think it wasn't only grades. I think it was also scheme and playing time. He is 3-4 DE. If you move him to DT we already have Mccullers and couch....the only time he might see the field is if someone gets hurt or in a passing situation and if mccullers gets in a little bit better shape we might not even need him then

He's in academic trouble. He was not going to be eligible for the fall and wasn't willing to jump through the hoops to get eligible. He knows he's got a low draft status...he's just looking to get drafted in any round.

We obviously need all the help we can get. Plus you'd hope he will continue to improve with another season in a weight program ect. And I think coming back would be best for him as well. You don't typically see average performing underclass man declare

I do not think of this as much of a "hit". If AJ had been eligible to leave and he left...that's a hit.

Hopefully, it works out for this guy but unless he has his degree already it is one of those decisions that he will most likely regret.

What is his resume? Played for the worst UT defense in modern times?

He wants some of that nice nfl bling--Bentley, hot chicks all over him at the top clubs, drinking Hennessy and expensive bubbly--partying with stars---what's not to like??

The KID is 21 years old. He has plenty of time to continue to mature and get stronger.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Nice work.

Guys it doesn't matter. We won minimal amount of games with what we had. These guys did not help us win. I want players with heart and most of the players leaving did not have Tennessee as a priority (I said most).
