I've read on Blink's site for years. In fact, that's where I read that it was even being discussed on VolNation.
She is a legimate person with a team who diligently confirm their info before they post it in the articles. Those who post comments on it are interested people but do not necessarily know if their speculations are true. Blink (or her team) screen comments and do not allow rumors nor hateful comments about the victims on her site. She is respectful of victims' families, too. However, posters do "think aloud" about possible scenarios just as you do on this thread.
I don't know the extent of her association with law enforcement but from reading her site for at least three years, I can tell you that I think it is rather extensive. I also know that she uses her site comments as an avenue for getting info to law enforcement. If in your questioning you are assuming she is a type of "Nancy Grace," you couldn't be farther from the truth.
She has investigatively reported on several high profile cases such as the Morgan Harrington case in VA and the Caylee Anthony case in FLA. However, she doesn't strictly focus on high profile. She and her team also help with other missing person's cases...those that fall through media cracks, if you will.
If I remember correctly, the first reason this VolNation site was mentioned on her site was due to some incorrect information being posted here about Holly being found. It was the first I even knew about the topic being covered here. I read this site alot since the blood in our house runs orange but admittedly I only read the football and basketball threads prior to this. I don't comment on the threads very much but I am very interested in UT sports after marrying a die-hard UT fan.
***About 2 hours have elapsed since I began the post...tornado sirens, etc. We have learned the hard way in this household to stop whatever we're doing and get to the bathroom. Amazingly the electricity stayed on so the post as started is still intact.
I just wanted to let you know that not all sites about Holly are fly-by-night. Blink's and her sister site scaredmonkeys.com are legimate and much established and respected sites. Some of you might also be interested in the radio portion of scaredmonkeys.com, too. The host of the program, Dana Pretzer, is a Canadian law officer himself. He has many interesting guests discussing crime and law including Blink. Additionally, you will find that many of the posters on scaredmonkeys are not just posters but very involved in search and rescue operations.
You are wise to investigate that with which you are unfamiliar but don't disregard it just because you have not heard of it before. I hope you are open-minded enough to realize that not all who discuss this case are rubber-necking. I'm just as proud to be a reader at Blink's as I am to be a Volunteer...and that's saying alot. She's one of the good ones, guys.
