The Holly Bobo Kidnapping

"Volunteers tell FOX13's Earle Farrell significant pieceeevidence in Holly Bobo case is cell phone. Earle waiting to hear from authorities. "

-the exact tweet from fox13 website

Hope this is true but isn't this the same cell phone they have "found" several times.

I will wait for Nunley or Authorities to say this is true before I get excited.

Bless her heart. If that's true, there's no telling where she is. Maybe she was able to start a text message or something.

Another rumor via blinkoncrime.com: Supposedly it was a cell phone but the SIM card is missing. This person feels like someone may be planting the evidence to throw LE off. Also said tip came in from person who knows something or someone involved but cannot/will not tell. This person suggested family ties to the perp. Fwiw.

I've read on Blink's site for years. In fact, that's where I read that it was even being discussed on VolNation.

She is a legitimate person with a team who diligently confirm their info before they post it in the articles. Those who post comments on it are interested people but do not necessarily know if their speculations are true. Blink (or her team) screen comments and do not allow rumors nor hateful comments about the victims on her site. She is respectful of victims' families, too. However, posters do "think aloud" about possible scenarios just as you do on this thread.

I don't know the extent of her association with law enforcement but from reading her site for at least three years, I can tell you that I think it is rather extensive. I also know that she uses her site comments as an avenue for getting info to law enforcement. If in your questioning you are assuming she is a type of "Nancy Grace," you couldn't be farther from the truth.

She has investigatively reported on several high profile cases such as the Morgan Harrington case in VA and the Caylee Anthony case in FLA. However, she doesn't strictly focus on high profile. She and her team also help with other missing person's cases...those that fall through media cracks, if you will.

If I remember correctly, the first reason this VolNation site was mentioned on her site was due to some incorrect information being posted here about Holly being found. It was the first I even knew about the topic being covered here. I read this site alot since the blood in our house runs orange but admittedly I only read the football and basketball threads prior to this. I don't comment on the threads very much but I am very interested in UT sports after marrying a die-hard UT fan.

***About 2 hours have elapsed since I began the post...tornado sirens, etc. We have learned the hard way in this household to stop whatever we're doing and get to the bathroom. Amazingly the electricity stayed on so the post as started is still intact.

I just wanted to let you know that not all sites about Holly are fly-by-night. Blink's and her sister site scaredmonkeys.com are legitimate and much established and respected sites. Some of you might also be interested in the radio portion of scaredmonkeys.com, too. The host of the program, Dana Pretzer, is a Canadian law officer himself. He has many interesting guests discussing crime and law including Blink. Additionally, you will find that many of the posters on scaredmonkeys are not just posters but very involved in search and rescue operations.

You are wise to investigate that with which you are unfamiliar but don't disregard it just because you have not heard of it before. I hope you are open-minded enough to realize that not all who discuss this case are rubber-necking. I'm just as proud to be a reader at Blink's as I am to be a Volunteer...and that's saying alot. She's one of the good ones, guys.

Thank you for the info. There was no assumption on my part that she is anything like Nancy Grace. I had never heard of the site before and simply asked if it were legit or not. And you answered that.

As for the VN rumor that Holly was found, I'm pretty sure that comment was made via Twitter first, then mentioned here "as a rumor".

Thanks again for the info about the website.

I hope I did dispel that question for many of you. As for myself, I was glad to see the mention of VolNation on Blink's site as I had no idea there was even an off-topic forum on the board. I come to the site often to read but as I mentioned previously, I generally do not venture far from the basketball or football threads simply because they are the only sports I follow closely.

I am extremely proud of VolNation for the thread about Holly just as I am proud of all the Volunteer spirit being evident in the search for her. I pray for her safe return in spite of the fact that realistic thoughts are wanting to taint my optimism.

If you have time to scan any of the posts on Blink and/or scaredmonkeys.com, you will be especially pleased to see most comments are very complimentary about our area. Apparently not all parts of the country come to the help of their neighbors as readily as our people.

We are a very rich state, you know, but our wealth lies in our people and is not always visible to others.

That last line is the nicest thing I've heard about our state in a while. :hi:

May have already been mentioned, if so, I apologize, but organized volunteer searches have been called off the next couple of days because of the severe weather rolling thru the area.
