The Holly Bobo Kidnapping

Without a definitive lead/suspect that is the best option at resolving the case with the abducted person being alive. There are problems that can arise I'm sure with that many people trodding over a crime scene. But goal number one is finding the person alive, so it's worth the risk.

The volunteers have searched "open" areas. Fields, sides of roads, fields, etc.

Anywhere that has required a more "detailed" investigation has been handled completely by the authorities.

Which is a good idea by law enforcement. My thinking is, though, is if that's my little girl I'm willing for the crime scene to be trampled if it means finding her.

I'm still holding out hope in this case. Doesn't look good, but far stranger things have happened.

I'm pretty sure if any volunteer saw her somewhere they wouldn't give one damn about instructions or protocol at that time.

No way law enforcement reveals every detail. And it's very easy to second guess, but one look at a map reveals all you need to know about this case. The best option authorities had to find her alive in the critical beginning time was to use a massive search like they did.

If you think she was taken against her will - searching in a rescue mission the first day is understandable.

But looking at the map only reinforces my belief she is a participant, not a victim.

When the dogs lost the scent in the woods at the road, I would've put some roadblocks up.... keep searching the woods for sure.. but let's be watching the out routes too.

If I took these comments personal, I wouldn't have lasted this long. However, next time throw in some doughnut comments to strenghthen your discouragement.

I heard they are having a hard time concentrating while searching because of the strong smell of bacon in the area.

The smell never bothered me. I was more concerned with getting my suit dirty.

IYO - What is your opinion on why they are not releasing results of the blood tests?

Everyone knows blood was found and tested. The results are back, but the are not releasing the info. I have to think it's not Holly's blood. If it's Holly's blood they say "yep, it's hers". My guess is it's not a registered DNA match.

There could be various reasons and one could be just what you described but as I stated before the TBI is not very forthcoming to begin with and you have to have keep in mind that this investigation could or could have turned into a murder investigation at any point and thats why any good investigator will play it close to the vest. The end result is what is important here and not public perception. They can explain why they did what they did at the end of the day and people can either accept that or not but a lot of the steps being taken have courtroom overtones. Again, JMO.

Thanks for the insight. It just seems like information is very inconsistent. One day they are saying they found a lunchbox including the exact location - now they won't release the blood test results.

Is there a timeline that the TBI uses before they change an active investigation to a "cold case" or whatever it's called?

I wonder if LE is any closer to finding Holly Bobo and her abductor than they were the day of her abduction. This case is beginning to remind me of the Morgan Harrington and Kyron Hormon investigations. LE's silence in both cases has been deafening. There has been no resolution in either case.

No suspects. No Holly. This is getting frustrating, yet I keep reminding myself that I am not family and I have no idea what is going on. I have to hope they are doing everything possible to find her.

They found Morgan but not her killers. Sadly a lot of cases end up like that.

At a psychiatric pavilion. Doesn't this family have ties to NO? Or I may be mixing up stories.... That is odd.

There's a comment on the google map that the New Orleans icon is probably related to the 2 boys who are missing down there......so probably just a mistake>

He's an ace hole. You know he's the idiot who poisoned Toomers corner right?

Yeah...that is why I said it is hard to believe anyone on twitter that has that name.

Edit: I see what you're doing there...trying to beat me on post count...

To my knowledge there is no specific timeline. The cases are never closed you follow the leads and information until they run out and you have exhausted all means to bring the case to a close. Its at that point it becomes a cold case.
To expand on my previous post. This case is two fold. You have the search and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding her disappearence but at the same time you are building a case against whoever is responsible. The lack of information is a built in safe guard against compromising the later. There are some aspects and details that only the perp knows and when LE hears those buzz words they know they have a substantial lead. For instance if you have a homicide and you know the weapon that was used was a 45 cal. you wouldn't want that info out because only you and the perp know that. So the perps brother calls in and states that his brother did it and that he used a 45. That would be deemed as credible information.
