The Holly Bobo Kidnapping

Given up hope for some time now. From the outside looking in, sure seems like the stereotypical small town law enforcement screw up.

I'm usually first in line to criticize small-town LE. It's seems like the TBI was in on this very early on. I don't think we have enough information to be critical of anyone at this point.

The following is a good read from American Chronicle. Says a lot about the Tennessee "family". I am in Arkansas, and I am just as concerned as if I lived in Tennessee.

Why is the Holly Bobo abduction getting so little coverage?

I have read that the good people of Tennessee are turning out in droves to help find Holly Bobo. Thousands of concerned citizens have already volunteered to walk through dense woods in an effort to uncover clues to help in Holly´s return, so many in fact that some had to be turned away. Law enforcement officials have stated they have never before seen turnout like what they are seeing in Parsons, Tennessee, a small rural town with a population of roughly 2,500 people.

Surprisingly, in excess of 2,000 individuals have shown up to help search for Holly. Kids have even volunteered to get out of school to help in the search effort – no, not as a way to skip a day of school, but in a sincere effort to help – how wonderful is that!

Maybe that is why Tennessee is called the Volunteer State. People in Tennessee really care for their neighbors – even if they do not personally know someone, they show up in droves in an effort to show just how much they care.

Now for the bad news – all this help, although greatly appreciated, is not enough. More is needed – not necessarily in the number of people walking shoulder to shoulder in dense woods – what is needed is a concerted effort nationally, regionally, and locally to keep this abduction in the forefront of the news.

When people see a television news article covering the abduction, that coverage, by itself, might help jog someone´s memory of something they might have seen that could be a clue in solving this case.

What is needed is national investigative shows that cover abductions, murders, kidnappings, and other major crimes to devote a segment on Holly - daily if possible, to help solve the case and bring Holly back home to her family. The whole show does not need to be dedicated to Holly´s abduction – sometimes just a time slice to keep the case active in our minds.

The good thing is that there are such shows in existence and they both are on CNN Headline News and they broadcast in prime time – so what is the problem here?

Why is this case not being covered on these programs over and over until Holly is found?

The names of these two shows are the Nancy Grace show and Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell. Both of these shows focus on major crimes. Both have been helpful in solving major cases. People frequently call into both shows with questions, concerns, and suggestions as to what law enforcement might do to solve cases.

A few months ago a young girl went missing in the south eastern part of our country and after her face and the face of her abductor were shown repeatedly on the Nancy Grace show, the pair was observed in a store in California, of all places, and a clerk called it in and the young girl was safely returned to her family and the abductor was arrested.

Sounds like a fairy tale doesn´t it, but the reality of it is that keeping a crime active in the media sometimes helps solve cases.

On Thursday, April 21st, Deborah Norville was guest hosting the Nancy Grace show and that was when I first found out about Holly´s abduction. I was moved by the specifics – a beautiful young vibrant college age girl - abducted from her own driveway while she was getting ready to get in her car to drive to classes. It was reported that her brother witnessed the event from a window overlooking the driveway. At the time, he did not realize that it was an abduction but when he did realize something appeared wrong, he called authorities and search efforts began.

Deborah Norville dedicated the entire show to Holly. There were law enforcement and other crime specialists that gave their opinions on various aspects of the abduction. Aerial views of the Holly´s house and the surrounding dense woods were shown repeatedly during the show. With all the coverage it seemed like a speedy resolution would happen and Holly would be safely returned.

Unfortunately, the case has not been solved and that is the last coverage we have seen on the Nancy Grace show. Why? Why has the Nancy Grace show decided to not dedicate not even another minute to keeping this case in the minds of the viewing public? Why has she decided to not even put up a screen with a photo of Holly and details about what numbers to call if you have any information? There are volunteers manning tip lines waiting for that one call that will crack this case and for that call to be made requires shows like "Nancy Grace" and "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell" keeping the public aware that Holly is still missing and may still be alive.

Nancy and Jane both draw on the sensational, they thrive on asking very probing, if not embarrassing questions to guests, victims and family members of victims in their effort to both help solve cases as well as boost their ratings.

For the past week the Nancy Grace show has covered other abductions and missing individuals under suspicious circumstances - but surely, she could have dedicated even one minute to the specifics surrounding Holly´s abduction...

I, for one, would love to see more coverage of the case. I truly believe that the public can help, but we need to be informed.

I for one think the reason they are not getting the media attention because i think Nancy G and JVM were told to hold off. If you notice there is nothing being released i havent even seen her on the national news lately.. What is going on i have no clue but something is amiss in Tennessee.

This entire case have been off from day one...Nothing makes any sense! Not one thing.
Clint says one thing then it changes. No one can confirm the times the 911 calls were made and who made them. The blood whos blood is it?

What happend Easter to shut off all searches and info (whatever there was of it)
What happend to the significant find??????????????

Im not so sure that girl walked into the woods!
