The men staying in the area could be due to countless frivolous leads coming in? They will pull out too once the leads slow to a trickle and then let local LE deal with it. Cant believe its going to end this way.

The TBI saying some men would stay in the area has to mean that the majority will not. This, combined with zero organized public searches, has to mean efforts are being greatly scaled back. The timing of the family statement fits this.

I just can't believe this has gone (or is going) cold. I think I bought into the belief all along that LE knew "whodunit" and was just intent on getting enough evidence to convict.

I also cannot imagine that this is a runaway situation nor can I begin to wrap my brain around the indication that someone pulled this off leaving no significant evidence.

Do ya'll think this really could be a case where the influence and such run so deep that a cover-up will block the truth?

I just have such faith and trust in our TBI and LE that I am confused over this lack of confidence I sense. Perhaps that's the whole intent though...maybe they want to relax the search effort in an attempt to catch the perp off guard.

I just can't imagine the additional trauma it would add to this family if this turned into an unsolved case.

It just seemed like this was finally going to be one of those abductions that ended with the victim still alive. Now it almost seems to be just the hope that she'll be found sooner or later so that they can lay her to rest.

As much as I want the one who took her to be prosecuted, I'd rather he go free if it meant Holly's life would be spared.

The case can't go cold without the public knowing anything, can it?

I mean, the public is another option available, and we can't leave anything on the table, can we?

Give us some known details and see if the general public can help, at least?

I have trouble sending a new PM sometimes. I'm on an iPhone. It works best if I reply to one I've already received. Hope this helps.

I have no idea about the brother. He could be involved, but you'd think a man his age still living at home would have cracked with information by now if he had any.

I have no idea what happened to Holly and I have no inside information or direct connection to those involved. My speculation is only a theory based on the evidence and information that has been reported.

Has anyone ever reported how she was doing in school? I know grades are a privacy issue, but in this case, has anyone said she was an "A" student or anything?

I couldn't rule anyone out. I do agree she didn't run away. I can't rule the brother's involvement out. Too many mean people out there.

New to this site, following the thread since day 1...

It seems it would be a huge leap to think that either Holly or her brother were involved in her disappearance; all personality and lifestyle evidence suggest that would not fit her profile.

My fear is that LE was simply not initially prepared for extent of premeditation involved in this abduction...

It is difficult for me to imagine that, by this point, LE/TBI do not have significant leads on a culprit. It appears most likely that Holly's abductor was known to her (or knew her). In such a small (and seemingly tight-knit) community, one would think it impossible for someone's absence or abnormal behaviour to go unnoticed.

(As a sidenote, thank you to all posters that have been updating this thread since Holly's disappearance)
