Everyday Big East refs aren't as tolerant as the tournament crews. He would have been double T'd and tossed with those antics he was pulling today.

That said, his team beat a woeful Villanova squad in every aspect but ran out of gas. Look for St. Mary's over Nova on Saturday.
If they didn't throw Gonzo out with regularity, they wouldn't be bothered by Rice. Bobby makes Mike look like a choirboy.

1. Great win against a game opponent. Now it's time to focus on Ohio.
2. There will only be 48 teams left after tonight. Tennessee is one of them.
3. Melvin Goins elevated his game at the right time. That last 3 will live forever in UT lore.
4. Brian Williams hitting clutch free throws was a minor miracle. That's what it takes in March.
5. Fouling 3 point shooters seems to be something this team can't get out of their system. It's going to eventually cost them a game.
6. Wayne Chism gets another game in a UT uniform. That's a very good thing.
7. JTIII has some soulsearching to do. When your team no shows the NCAAs, there's a systemic problem.
8. Great win for Old Dominion. Blaine Taylor deserves the exposure.
9. Seton Hall should hire Mike Rice immediately. He's ready for the Big East.
10. Any day Vanderbilt and Notre Dame are eliminated from the NCAA Tournament is a good one. Good riddance to Luke Harangoofy.

Gotta say that our PGs came up huge today. 26 points combined, no turnovers, 5-6 at the FT line, and 5-7 from three point range. We finally have PG play at tourney time under CBP.

I've never known Rice until today, but he was something else.

I've seen girls softball coaches that behaved better than he did. Gonzo was a mess too though. Maybe they should try to bring back Amaker, he has Harvard in the 20+ win column.

If there's one thing I learned about this years team, it's that the performance given one night has nothing to do with what you see later.

Well said. I'd also doubt that Ohio plays as well on Saturday as they did tonight.

I hope Bruce can convince the guys to try to score in the paint and defend the three point line against the Bobcats.

UT should count itself very fortunate. Favorites (i.e. better seeds) are only 8-7 today and Montana is giving New Mexico all they want.
