The Hunter Biden Thread

Pretty interesting read. Here's a couple tidbits I thought were interesting.

Hunter Biden to Appear in Delaware Federal Court
It sounds like she called them out on the unspoken portions of the agreement and when faced to admit it, they backtracked.

Surely there wouldn't be so much confusion between the defense and prosecution over what the deal included, and was only realized in the day of court when asked by the judge. Because that's exactly what the defense was claiming a month ago. I made a post on the subject at post# 4573.

The way I understand it is that everything was good until the judge started questioning the language and how verification was going to work. She wouldn't approve the agreed to deal because of the language being so vague. Have to believe that it was purposefully written that way and both teams of lawyers were hoping to slide it past the judge.

One unreputable news source indicated it fell apart when she asked the prosecutor if the pending investigation involved charges of not registering as a foreign agent.

that caused one of the problems - prosecutors said that investigation was ongoing and defense freaked saying they believed the deal took that off the table.

Too funny not to share given the cubby hole incident:

They wanted Hunter immune from prosecution for anything discovered? In perpetuity.

Along with pre-trial diversion on a federal gun charge?

Along with a slap for willful income tax evasion?

Nothing to see here. This is totally normal.

Not in perpetuity. The defense is saying they thought it resolved what was already being investigated.

It would not give me a ton of confidence in whoever is at fault for the miscommunication, but for the defense to advise him to enter into a plea agreement, its 100% normal for them to think this is a wrap.

While he certainly should be, this isn’t entirely accurate at all. One could easily derive that theory from today’s hearing, but truly “revealed” is far from confirmed.

from a WSJ article

Part of the turmoil began on Wednesday when prosecutor Leo Wise insisted that the investigation into Hunter Biden’s activities remained ongoing and said in response to a question from the judge that he could face additional foreign-lobbying charges.

sounds about as close to a confirmation as you can get

Hunter Biden Pleads Not Guilty to Tax Charges

During the hearing, Hunter Biden sat with his attorneys and quietly watched as the proceedings unraveled. He offered a glimpse into his recovery efforts, telling the judge he had been in treatment at least six times in the past two decades for his drug and alcohol addiction. The last time he used drugs or alcohol was June 2019, he said.

anyone believe the bolded?
