It's over and quite frankly it should be over or turned over to the DOJ. Congressional investigations are just theater.

I would hope that if there was anything of substance to this the DOJ would have been on it 2+ years ago. Really, when was the last congressional investigation that resulted in anything?

I’m curious if you still feel this way. Seems the DOJ has lost even more of the American people’s confidence since you posted this. Granted congress doesn’t have much of that themselves, but at least congressional investigations are more public

More on Hunter’s “art” and why people are paying huge sums for it.

Business Insider -
Exclusive: Hunter Biden's gallery sold his art to a Democratic donor 'friend' whom Joe Biden named to a prestigious commission

That buyer, Insider can reveal, is Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a Los Angeles real-estate investor and philanthropist. Hirsh Naftali is influential in California Democratic circles and a significant Democratic donor

In July 2022, eight months after Hunter Biden's first art opening, Joe Biden announced Hirsh Naftali's appointment to the Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad.

BI reached out for comment. WH gave a canned response, but “did not offer a timeline”.

The identity of the $875,000 buyer is unclear. That one buyer represents the majority of the $1,379,000 in receipts that Hunter Biden's gallery received for his work
That ^ is absurd. $1.4M in receipts so far for Hunter’s “art”.

Yes, I still think congressional investigations are political theater especially if the majority party in congress doesn’t hold the WH.

I don’t disagree. I just prefer the open nature of the theater for high profile investigations that may be influenced by politics

All the talk of bongs takes away from the important issues here and makes it easier for people to dismiss. No one should care what his attorney.

We should care about the verified text messages we have saying his dad gets half his salary and that his dad is sitting beside him. Along with the numerous whistleblowers.

We should care that Joe has never released his full tax returns and that 5 million (exactly half of what burisma paid and exactly how much they said they paid Joe) was unaccounted for

Edit: I was wrong here. Was going off memory but the actual number is far higher. From 2017-2019 his S Corp (which he’s not released) income was 17 million.

Exactly.....it's like everybody is pretending that didn't happen in real life. The sad thing is we have know about this for 3 years now but up until recently it's always been "right-wing conspiracy"......funny how many conspiracies have come true the past 3 years

Yea I guess worded poorly. I was saying nothing that could ever come from the current investigation.

I guess plea deals fall thru often. Does it matter at all if a defendant walks in ready to plead guilty, with an agreement in place, and then ultimately pleads not guilty?
I’m just going to refer to this hypothetical charge as a FARA charge.

It can matter if they get convicted later, but the plea negotiations can’t be used against them to gain a conviction. I think that’s rule of evidence 410.

It happens a lot in state court. The lower the stakes the more often it happens in terms of defendants backing out of deals.

This sounded more like the lawyer changing his advice, but I didn’t read a ton about it. Sounded like the lawyer found out about another potential charge and backed his client out. Assuming that’s right. I think that’s a smart decision on the lawyer’s part. I only did a piecemeal plea once, as a very inexperienced lawyer, and that was almost a disaster. You really don’t want him getting hit with a FARA charge that you knew was a possibility and then getting some kind of mandatory enhancement because of this conviction that adds months to his sentence. The lawyer is hired to be an expert at the procedure and ****ing that up is not being an expert.

Why they didn’t know a FARA charge might come down the pike before today and apparently hadn’t gotten their idea of what this meant in writing or why the USA didn’t tell them they were investigating that (if this USA is even investigating that) is the thing that’s kind of weird about it. A lot of ways it could be understandable but we’re getting to the point where there are a lot of things happening with his attorneys that might be understandable or might indicate garbage attorneys.

I think it’s par for the course for this forum that ya’ll are still talking about this “sweetheart deal” after the parties backed out of it because what the other side wanted wasn’t good deal for them. 😂

Continue to actively seek gainful employment? Good grief! the son of the POTUS and smartest man POTUS knows can’t get a f***ing job? This is where we are with this clown show. How unbelievably pathetic.

With the millions and millions of jobs that Joe has created I’m sure someone of Hunter’s intelligence and experience could easily find employment at McDonalds.
