The Impeachment Thread

"Joe Biden allegedly directed $1.8 billion in aid money to Ukraine as Vice President while his son Hunter received millions of dollars from Ukrainian energy giant Burisma Holdings, according to Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute and senior Breitbart editor-at-large. "
Well, if the Breitbart alleged it, it must be true - everyone knows how impartial they are.

TDS much?

LOL, I'm starting to embrace "TDS." I don't think history is going to be kind to Donald or his jock sniffers.

Are there any adults left in the White House? All of the starters have quit or been fired, now it's full of JV benchwarming 'yes men'. No wonder this administration is such a dumpster fire.

I am a conservative. Yet I continue to watch conservatives be fine with deficit expansion under “our” elected guys. Crooks everyone of them. At least the Dems don’t hide the fact that they plan on blowing us up into fiscal hell. I washed my hands of trump the moment he had no problem growing the deficit. Liar scumbag just like the rest.
Thanks for speaking up. I wish more conservatives would.

You are just jealous that Trump won't hire you.

Worry not, my friend, for that firebrand Wilbur Ross is ON THE JOB, and holding President Trump's feet to the fire!!!!

Oh wait, crap... he's asleep again.

Okay, so Hunter Biden was peddling influence to a Ukrainian company at the rate of $50,000 a month. And the only influence he could possibly have been peddling was that of his father, who at the time was the sitting Vice-President of the United States. But hey, why should that be a problem for Joe Biden?

That was Alisyn Camerota's apparent logic on CNN this morning. On New Day, foreign policy expert Ian Bremmer said Joe Biden does have a Ukraine problem. Bremmer said the $50,000/month that Hunter Biden was paid by a Ukrainian company was "clearly to be selling influence, because clearly otherwise no one would ever pay him that kind of money."

A dubious Alisyn Camerota responded, "and is that Joe Biden's fault or problem?"

Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

CNN's Camerota Unconvinced Hunter Biden's Influence Peddling is Joe's Problem

If this is NOT Joe’s problem, then Trump’s discussions of the matter with the Ukrainian leader about it could not have been politically motivated.

Someone needs to tell her, it become Joe’s problem when he extorted the Ukrainian government. Demanded that they fire the prosecutor looking into his son’s business feelings. That, is when it became Joe’s problem.

Any appearance of impropriety is the issue. Shouldn't exist.

Regardless of "truth", it is not a good look and guilt by association doesn't mean they were lacking knowledge of what was going on or have plausible deniability.

Trump was 100% right to ask for this to be looked into!

Now Trump is claiming he withheld the money because other countries aren't paying their fair share to help Ukraine.

Jeebus, he thinks his supporters are dumb.

"I said, 'You're not getting the [$1 billion]. I'm leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you're not getting the money.' Well, son of a b****. He got fired," Biden said.

So Biden can threaten to withhold money but Trump cant? Got it!

Do you think the fact that, in reality, E.U. countries have given $15 billion in aide to Ukraine, discredits trump’s claim that he withheld this congressionally approved payment because other countries aren’t paying their fair share?

This might be setting the stage for another volley of “Trump is too incompetent to avoid breaking a few laws” defense that we got during the Mueller report. I mean, really, should we expect the man who has the authority to unilaterally alter US foreign policy to have all the facts before doing so?

Yup, one involved Bidens son being investigated by a foreign country's prosecutor, fire him or no Aid....Considering its on video of Biden’s shakedown of Ukraine to fire this prosecutor or else, its kind of an open and shut case.

Can you here the outcry if Trump did this with Trump Jr? Fire the prosecutor or else

It would be a problem if it’s true.

Worst case scenario: I stop believing in Biden as the candidate to be the face of the referendum on corruption and incivility.

As shocking as this must be for some here, I’ll be disappointed with that development for about 15 seconds, and then I’ll move on with my life. He’s a politician. They’re a fungible commodity.

@Weezer yes, it [Biden’s motives] absolutely should be investigated.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown on the $15 billion. Probably a lot of fluff in those numbers.

At any rate I think it's a pretty safe bet that Trump never mentioned EU funding when he was talking to the Ukrainian president.

I may have only heard a partial clip, but the people Trump said he was telling that to were all in the White House--i.e., ones that won't dispute his claims.
