No, he wouldn't. Anybody knows that. But...the Senate and GOP would have. They didn't have to convince Trump. They did not bring the most important ally on board. They blew it.

It’s about Trump not getting re-elected . The problem is by going with impeachment you have to be careful , timing is everything . You can try to get him to resign but Trump will never do that and admitted someone beat him and made him quit . You can try to get him removed but you have to control the senate and you pretty much have to have him admit he killed someone while standing over the body dancing in their blood while the actual act was recorded and immediately upload to social media where it can’t be “ lost . Trump brings in money and votes , you can’t stop the money so .... it’s all about swaying votes . That’s it , nothing more , nothing less . Everything else is a dog and pony show .
