His legal opinion would be relevant only to the extent we need to explain his actions. So if we need to explain why he didn't raise concerns about the call, his legal opinion may explain why he took no action. But to the underlying issue of whether Trump did anything illegal--which is what's at stake here--his legal opinion is of no relevance.
