The Impeachment Thread

Let me help you with your misunderstanding:

If the US , State or local government wanted to investigate an american citizen there is a legal process which must be followed. Only after that process if followed and an investigation is opened up (usually with probable cause), can the governing body collect information on that individual. Yes they can seek information from other countries after that process has started but not until OUR LAWS about investigating OUR CITIZENS are adhered to.
Again. If an american commits a crime in another country that country can invesitgate and prosecute them. The only grey area is if the offending parties country refuses to extradite them for trial. Other countries dont have to follow our laws or constitutional rights. That's beyond stupid.

You might be getting confused when it comes to inter national courts where the US, or really any country, can tell them to pound sand.

This is awesome watching the fapping from the left that this fiasco is going to be the final straw that takes Trump down when most likely the clear near term casualty is going to be Biden’s 2020 presidential bid 😂

I'd say, in an effort to get Congress to start an investigation into Ukrainian improprieties. lol

You guys have been claiming "Trump is done" for how long now? Seriously. Answer the question. Every time you run with un-sourced claims, and source them with "then why did Trump...?" it blows up in your face. Every time. Just see TrumputinGate... The Stripper. The tax returns... The Mueller report. The Mueller interviews. lol Let's go ahead and add the Supreme Court rape parties.

I've seriously begun thinking moron Trump has been beating you all at 4-D chess this entire time. Doesn't say much for you and your crew.

It would appear that you've conflated "Trump winning at 4-D chess" with Trump supporters absolutely not caring that he's simply knocked over the pieces while declaring victory.

The whataboutisim isn't going to get traction no matter how bad you want it to. Nothing that either of the Biden's did sought help from a foreign country to influence our elections.... You know, the thing our democracy is built around? The "bbbuuuutttt Biden" defense isn't going to help your cause, get ahead of the rush and abandon it now.

Secondly, I was being sarcastic in my comment about Obama. No rational person would equate Obama stating the obvious with Trump strong arming a HoS for dirt on a political foe.

Oh, it will get enough traction that the Dems will pull back again cause the only sh*t hitting the fan is their own. Whataboutism is a term ya'll throw around when your own is guiltier than Trump, but you don't want to admit it.

Besides, you throw in Obama, Biden, and Murphy and you got a problem. It's not whataboutism. It's illegal. Right.

"I can be more flexible after the election". Yeah, that had no inference at all.

Good gracious, the desperation in trying to deflect and connect those dots is palpable.

Your argument to me inadvertently breaks down because you've failed to grasp that i don't give a F about Biden.

I hope they all swing. But that doesn't mean you're not deflecting.

So what's the general consensus of the Trump leg-humpers in here?
The general consensus, I think, is that, at this time, this is one more of countless baseless, unsourced, accusations against Trump by his political enemies. And I think the consensus is that, as many times as the previous unsourced accusations have been shown to be fecal matter, there's a great chance this one will be as well.

Like I said above.....SSDD. Same sh!t different day.

You are really one confused person. Nobody has ever said another country cannot investigate an american citizen. That is the root of your confusion and the reason you are attacking the straw man you created. What you really fail to grasp are American laws reguarding investigating american citizens. Remember your FISA abuse screeching, similar to that.

How many times has American law guarded traveling citizens?

Oh no I’m all for it! Go ahead and do it. And if it is investigated an IC would support the integrity of any investigation as it would be outside the control of the DOJ or the Executive.

It will be interesting to see if you call gains steam. And frankly what you’re recommending is exactly what many suspected would happen. This whole fiasco backfire and take down Biden. I can’t see how having an IC ongoing investigation against you would help your chances on your 2020 presidential bid.

But... let’s also remember who gets to appoint the IC 😈. If it shows a negative result the left will just throw it out as a puppet doing the bidding of Trump. 🤷‍♂️ Only way to possibly squelch that would be a criminal conviction, not just indictment, of Biden. And I don’t think anybody on either side really wants to ring that bell.

Appointment of an independent counsel would be handled by DOJ, after Barr recused, which he would have no choice but to do at this point. Seems inconsistent to express gleeful malevolence over the prospect of being able to select the investigator and then act like it’s unjustified for anybody to see it as a sham. Maybe I’m misinterpreting that.

Regardless you’re both tacitly acknowledging and glossing over my original point: there is an established, appropriate procedure that would have been justified by the “but joe Biden” defense. That’s not what happened.
